Although I do enjoy occasional shittalking and flaming on these forums as it keeps me somewhat entertained while at work, this conflict seems to have gone a little too far. For those that complain that this argument is over videogames, I’d have to answer yes and no.
Basically I see this as a battle of Navid trying to publicly express his negative opinion on another person’s girlfriend when he really had no business doing so, and then Tao defending his girlfriend while verbally ravaging on Navid (which has become too damn harsh).
First of all:
What did you really expect to come from this Navid? If you were in the same situation as Tao, would you not fire back with something? I know I would… regardless of your opinion of somebody else’s girlfriend, you don’t go and make them public unless they are positive… especially if you’re “friends” with them.
I’ll give you an example that involves myself:
Ron (Lonely_Driver) does NOT like my girlfriend, for reasons I feel are unsubstantiated, but he doesn’t go around telling people, “wtf is wrong with that bitch” or something similar, therefore we are still good friends and not much has changed… but if he were to go on these forums (or anything similar, like to a group of people) and just say “blah blah blah … i dont like this about her… her voice makes me wanna hurt someone.” I would probably donkey punch (close medium punch with ryu) him in the head.
Now with the insults to someone’s appearance, and intelligence… I don’t think that they’re really neccessary. Whatever, if you can get pussy, enjoy it, but don’t rub it in other people’s faces if they can’t. I don’t know the whole history behind the “who’s gonna get into what University deal” but if someone gets accepted into UBC and the other gets into SFU, who cares? High school entrance percentages mean basically dick all once you get into your faculty… I got into UBC with unconditional acceptance into the Science Faculty… first year comes around I (formerly with a 93 in chem 12) FAIL first year chemistry… yup, first class I ever failed… I realized Science wasn’t for me. I did well in my econ/math classes, and switched into the arts faculty and am now Majoring in Econ… and I am damn glad as per right now, I am employed at a Brokerage firm downtown (for the summer), and am following a career path that looks pretty promising IMO.
Suggestions from Koost to all:
Take what you read on SRK with a grain of salt: Unless you actually know history between people, don’t go and make judgement on one person, b/c you are better friends with the other. I am better friends with Tao, but I still think Navid is a nice guy.
Epic/heroic/articulate posts are “bomb”: Would you rather read one of said posts, or some rambling bullshit like this?

Tao is normally a good guy, and hell, he disses his gf way more harsh than i have ever done. sure, hes justified to (in his opinon atleast), but you would expect someone saying that in thier opinoin shes not bomb, wouldnt lead to something this big, if he calls her (i wont mention) all the time.
at the end of the day, sure, i regret even bringing up the fact that i dislike Shelby on an internet forum, and i should have kept it IRL. but then again, it would have been better if Tao kept that wise crack to himself as well.
about the whole university thing, thats tao’s way of making himself seem more superior to me, even though he got 16% in math, and failed horribly. i had a better counter post to that topic before my laptop died out last night, and i dont feel like touching up on that topic anymore.
Edit: Navigating thru SRK is a bitch without a mouse. (keyboard only… damn)… but it seems like we missed out on ALOT of shit by not going to EVO… damn… i say we reserve these same days for NEXT YEAR to go to EVO fo sho’ BC will be recognized! haha. the big thing about this year’s EVO is Daigo parrying Justin’s Chun SAII, then doing a combo after it.
