We should be about to mess around with the settings on the Samsung to get a good lag test. Probably HDMI or VGA and not component.

There are no first party PS3 VGA cables. You either have to buy an HD Fury (100-200 bucks) or get the Mayflash cable from the Chinamen (35 bucks) which apparently gives horrible image quality.
The Asus monitors EVO is planning on using supposedly have no lag with an HDMI cable, and they’re only about $200. Small size though, 23" I believe.
Also tested two standard definition tvs with a component cable. Both only had 3 milliseconds of lag. So I’m sure we will have plenty of TVS. Robin is right though. I changed my component cable to hdmi on my hdtv and increased the lag…so switching it to component or vga would fix the problem. At least, make the lag less. VGA is easy to get on 360 I don’t understand why everyone wants to play on PS3…
I think CVS2 just gets crap because there’s a lot of build up before anything happens and the only rushdown groove you see in match vids these days is K groove (A and C grooves are still used more often any ways). SFIV feels pretty fast to me but only because I’m playing Viper. That on top of playing 3S which wasn’t super fast to begin with. It’s only when I play other characters do I notice how slow the game really is. Gorlab makes the game feel slow as hell. When you see him slowly dashing across the screen for a rush or TAP punch it makes you think about pouring molasses on pancakes. Not that ST stuff at all.
People like PS3 cuz it’s a hardcore system. It’s also black. Plus it’s Evo standard since everyone already has PS1 custom joysticks or PS pads that they can just use a converter and play with. They don’t have to mod their TE stick or buy a 360 controller.
