Blade 1 and The Dark Knight are about the only good non-marvel studios superhero movies made in the past couple of decades.
I hated Avengers, but it’s a hell of a lot better than things like Man of Steel.

Opinions, and this shit goes back and forth no matter where it is, Marvel movies, DC movies, good, bad, whatever the fuck.
Personally I enjoyed Marvel movies over Nolan’s Batman trilogy. I favor lighthearted stuff and things that happen in Marvel’s films feel more organic than anything that happens in Nolan’s film. With Nolan’s films I couldn’t get over how much it didn’t want to be a superhero film while Marvel’s movies revel in it.

Fair play to the 2nd movie, movie was a 10/10 all day long but little due to the fact its a dark gritty batman movie, it was just a really cool thriller and Ledger pulled of the impossible. Plus Harvent Dent was fucking unreal perfection portrayal. Batman was the weakest character in the last 2 movies and they got Bane so wrong they could have named him anything else and nobody woulda have known.
MoS was okish. Marvel movies were meh, though loved IM 1, Thor 2 and the bits of Cap 2 that didnt feature ScarLo and her fat ass(stupid bitch taking up screen time).
Crazy Asian to take over WB, and get more stuff like Watchmen pumped out pls, highly polished, medium violent bad ass crime capers, fuck the kiddy noise am honestly over it.
The most amazing thing about a possible acquisition of WB by Disney is that a Marvel VS DC fighting game is pretty much garanteed to happen… And it will be done by Netherrealm, lol. :lol:
I don’t know what it is about Nolan’s Batman and MoS that convinces people that anyone else wants to hear their dissenting opinions about the movies on the internet, especially in threads where they’re not applicable. I guess I could respect an opinion about the movies if you were coming up with a post explaining how a change of management would have specific effects on the movies release after the sale/merger, but we all know none of you are going to do that. You’re just saying you think the movie sucks because you think there’s a loudspeaker to talk into and it’s the first thing that came to your mind.
As for the thread, I hope nobody buys them. Corporate buyouts/mergers are horrible for customers most of the time. Time Warner is already a giant company that has far more resources than needs, there’s nothing their customers need that Time Warner is unable to fulfill. No gaps in service that couldn’t be fixed, no products that couldn’t be made, no nothing. (yes, I’m sure someone can come up with lots of things TW won’t do, but not very many things they can’t). Nobody would benefit from Disney owning the most cable channels, one of the largest cable/internet services, one of the largest content production studios, and a monopoly on comics (the most popular type of movie content atm) except Disney. This would be like Standard Oil for film.
If Capcom did it you could have Marvel vs DC vs Capcom X Tekken. I’d kinda like to give Wonder Woman the Dirty Bull.
Sure, I’ll be sure to tell Image, Dynamite, Boom Studios, Darkhorse, IDW and some others I forgot to mention don’t exist. These companies have had properties that were turn to film too.
Outside of The Walking Dead, none of those companies have products that compete with any of several DC or Marvel IPs.
You can go ahead and tell them whatever you want, they’re not serious contenders for the film business like DC and Marvel are. Disney would still put out virtually all of the most popular type of movies. You aren’t going to see Image Comics put out separate Walking Dead, Invincible, Spawn, and Witchblade movies and then put them together for an ensemble film like Marvel did with Avengers, one of the most profitable movies of all time. This is not a business model they can work in, because Disney would have a monopoly on it.
Of course Image won’t as they don’t own any of those properties. Image is publishes creator-owned comics. Each individual creator would need to farm their property to filmmakers to get them turn to movies. Mark Millar used his connections working as a consultant for Marvel in other media projects to turn Kick-Ass into a movie.
Dark Horse does have it’s own entertainment division and aided in the production of their movie properties. It’s no Marvel Studios but it’s better than the clusterfuck of DC’s division.
