Game looks beautiful on my CRT.
The GGPO online experience is leagues above the one you got on your computer.
The trails are fun and entertaining.
I enjoy any aspect of 3s art, so unlocking the vault stuff is neat.
Upload to Youtube is dope if you cant afford a capture-card.
Input delay? Haven’t felt much, other then the regular online input delay you will feel and to be honest against someone with decent ping its very minimal.
It’s Third Strike, It’s 15 dollars and there’s a shit ton of people playing it, I cant ask for more.
There are definitely things I don’t like about 3SO, but there are definitely things I do like about 3SO. I feel the benefits definitely outweigh the cons in my case.
wow Metric, you’re gonna bring down the wrath of tons of unsatisfied ggpo players. I think it 's the first positive post i’ve read about 3sO. I can’t test it for now as there’s still no eu psn update (grrr) but look forward to checking this out.
A new thread? I haven’t seen a thread where people were actually appreciating the game. I only see people talking about input-lag, random bugs online, and how the sound isn’t 100% 3s authentic. Not to say they aren’t valid issues, I agree with most of them. It’s unfortunate that they’ve had a bad experience with the game, because mine has been great.
Don’t feel any input lag (crisp filter with scan-lines) on a CRT television. (“2” GGPO smoothing)
Haven’t been put against a foreign player in Ranked Match Making. (10/10)
I haven’t played with the sound too high yet but I have experienced for example, I’d hit a button and I’d hear the button connecting against my opponent and they didn’t actually get hit, this is simply just GGPO rollbacks, if you play against someone with better ping, the less you will experience this.
The sounds are def going to take some time to get used to, I’m not sure why they switched up or tried to hi-def up in game sound effects, but it was a terrible idea. If one thing needs to be patched, it’s the sound effects and fixed disconnect ratio, I never disconnected out of the games I played but when I finished my session apparently I had a 43% disconnect ratio.
The game has its issues, thankfully it can be patched with the proper QA team on this. Easy fixes imo, and if they wanted to make a little easy money they’d put out a DLC with original huds and sounds from the game.
Oh, well the thread title is really generic so I wasn’t sure why you made it. Maybe you should change the thread title to 3SOE is GOOD! or FUCK the haters or something.
i only played a couple of games at lunch and it was cool for me. I noticed that it took a really long time to join a ranked match. From 30-75 seconds. I haven’t tried any other modes. had to go back to work.sigh. I’ll do a lot more testing tonight.

I’m enjoying this a bunch on xbox. Feels about like the arcade did… from what I can remember. Really impressed with the performance of GGPO so far. Much better than the PC equivalent. Played about 30-40 matches today in the afternoon and only about 6 or 7 had any real “rollback” issues. All the rest felt almost as good as sitting next to someone in person. Really impressed. Hate that I’m at work right now and not playing it.
I agree the matchmaking seems really slow right now. I’m hoping that improves. I’m not holding my breath this time but here’s hoping it’s just some sort of congestion or small error. Sort of wish the quickmatch didn’t just dump you into a lobby to wait… not really all that “quick” but I guess that’s what I’ll use ranked for… once it starts working right anyway… IF…
The way I had to do it was hook it up to a CRT (AV Cables) and something I can already play it on (my HDTV/monitor) with HDMI and then manually go into Display settings and switch the output to SCART. Fucking retarded, but it worked.
