There is so much information about tiers and match-ups these days, it’s not surprising that people mind fuck themselves; I know I do it in SFIV when I see Guile on the opposite side.
I ran rings around some guy with Twelve and in the lobby afterwards he shouts “fucking laggy scrub” and then leaves. I sent him a message saying “keep hope alive”.
His reply was: lol scrub ill keep hoping players like you weren’t dicks. Wanna play me now that my controls are right"
What a bizzare message. It’s not exactly the right way to go about setting up a match. What a charmer.

I mean, Remy’s fireball skills and normals probably would be really good…if he were in a different game.

His sonic booms and normals aren’t that bad, though. I mean he can’t deal big damage as easily as others, but he can get the job done with damage over time and frustration tactics. He’s just a lot of work.

They are not bad, very true. But the thing is having that slow based attrition style just doesnt work as well in 3S. Still, hes fun. I’ve been picking him a lot lately.

No hate mail yet, but I did have a streak going and a majority of the lobby I was in quit during a match.
Unfortunately, this game will have the least amount of hatemail because it caters to the hardcore and mature audience that played Third Strike back in the day. Although there’s a few newcomers, they aren’t NEARLY as bad as the Mortal Kombat fags (80% of them being under 15). Now THAT’S hatemail.

After seeing SO MANY guys send hate mail and call the person who beat them a “scrub” -for winning- I think I’ve figured it out:

People suck at being rational. Most people aren’t. Many have issues even thinking clearly.

Some guy humiliates you in a game. This makes you hate him. You want to believe he’s a bad person. Lower than yourself. Your inferior.

The only relevant framework for this hatred is the game at hand, and how this person who suddenly hate played the game.

Ergo, you conclude that the person who bodied you is a -bad gamer- and sucks. That you’ve stated a contradiction doesn’t matter (you haz skills in game so yew sux @ gaem.) All that matters is lowering the hateful other person in your mind.
Fighting games bring out the infantile rage because they require too much mental toughness to actually enjoy getting bodied by another player. You’ve got to love punishment and the chance to learn, and try again.

Of course, as a Sean player, I tend to call out as many basketballs as possible within a match. Every now and then, I expose someone and hit them with Hyper Tornado. I got a hatemail from some guy yesterday saying, “wtf keep spaming bballs noob fuckin’ fag.”
So, I’ve learned two things from playing Sean:
- It automatically makes me gay.
- You can spam his taunt.

I had the urge to send a hate message to a dude after a semi-laggy match and dream crushing rollbacks. Instead, I just said “gg.” I commend those who can keep their cool after losing in such a manner.

This is your first mistake. Didn’t you know scrubs speak in a different language? Yeah, it sounds like ours, but it’s like how babies speak with “grunts” and “belligerent screaming” as opposed to adults speaking with “reason” and “education.”
