I’ve been playing 3s online w/mame almost everday now and I’m having a lot of fun. The thing that bothers me is that I can’t actually talk to anyone. They try to type and I just get crazy shit like “eeeoeoee”.
So anyone else trapt on this god forsaken island that wants to play 3s with me?
Trapped in Japan? You must live far away from Tokyo.
Especially if you need to play people online in Japan.
For real, Japan has to be the best fucking place in the world to play some 3s.
lol well where you are, i wouldnt call it a god forsaken place thats the best country in the world to play 3s…im sure thats the reason we dont here of many foreigners playing onlinee especially in japan…but eh its good to see someone from japan is attempting to play online

not sure if u can set fonts in mame, change ur system default one to a japenese one?
Not only am I in Okayama prefecture (think a really shitty place somewhere between Hiroshima and Kobe) but I’m in one of the smallest towns in that prefecture.
I do pretty good online though. The guys are good, but nothing amazing. I win with Q quite often just to give you an idea of their skill level. Also, I’ve found that 3s isn’t popular in my prefecture. I’ve found ONE machine in 7 months of active searching. In places like Osaka or Kyoto its a different story.
Recently Japan has really turned away from 3s and games like GG, melty blood, VF and Tekken seem to be the most popular.

A lot of people seem to think that Japan is some kind of 3s wonderland, but its really not the case. The only places with good 3s comp are the major cities like Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Like I said I’ve found ONE 3s machine in my prefecture and no one plays it. Everyone plays GG and MBlood. Now the crowd is shifting toward tekken with the release of 6.
Every once in a while you do find a straggling 3s pro at the arcade/online and its good fun. But for the most part, things are pretty dead. Next stop… the virtual arcade.
I don’t know about you but everytime I’ve ever played 3rd Strike here in the southern virginia area is not at an arcade but at get togethers or people’s places. So, basically, if you run into a 3s player, just establish a relationship and play outside the arcade. I never play at arcade, I can’t even use a joystick.
or better yet just spread the kaillera 3s love lol…tell everyone jump online if they dont go to your local arcade or something…you either build the scene online or offline…in your case it seems online is the better scenario for 3s…try it
yeah, thats why I was asking if anyone using this forum plays on Japanese servers. It would just be more fun to play with SRK users.
