I’m still working on the Twelve vid (I swear, it’s really coming out. I just added a bunch of stuff for the second version), but I’ll definitely try to get around to it. I’d have to “simulate” the UBs, because it’d be Dreamcast of course.
Currently on the docket:
Finish the Twelve vid
Possible Remy for Starters vid
Possible Necro vid (because I love him!)
Super Secret Sean vid (Hoo yeah)
And now, My Style is Unblockable: The Movie
Honestly, if I was just going to film me doing stuff and then release it it’d take like a day, but I like to make pretty intros and I always add stuff so it takes a lot longer. Yeah, I’m like a girl, so what! But I’ll definitely try to bang that one out as soon as I’m done with the Twelve vid, which should HOPEFULLY be next week.
Okay now this isn’t an unblockable but I thought it could fit here anyway.
When someone quick rises and you do a “rushing type” special move you can cross them up without jumping.
Me and a friend were playing and he used urien but we were talking so it timed out on us picking supers os he was stuck with SA1 and he uses Aegis reflector so this was a big difference. Anyway, he has one setup where he shoots lp fireball xx aegis reflector, but since he had tyrant slaughter he started moving forward and I had opted to quick rise so he was past me and the fireball was on the other side of me.
This got me thinking, is there anyway to create an unblockable with this type of setup?
I know its highly improbable that it can work and may have already been suggested but I thought it would at least be something to think on or try out.
Sorry if this is a total waste but I thought it was cool!
Hypothetically, yes. If you could go faster than the projectile AND recover in time to attack from the opposite side, it would totally work (In fact, my Meter Hog Tyrant Slaughter UB on the front page is exactly that).
N - The final version of the Twelve vid is rendering on my machine right now. If I can find somewhere to upload it, I should be able to get it out tonight.
Haha, The Super 1337 meter Hog TS combo was what I was trying to do Thong boy. Although it’s a huge waste, it’s damn cool to pull out now and again when I mess up and don’t pick the Aegis
You 12 vid is awesome btw, when you going to make a Urien one?
Actually, wouldn’t the game automatically parry the second knife, even if it’s coming from the opposite direction?
I know in the DC version the game automatically parries simultaneous hits, but I can’t recall for the arcade version.
If both knives hit within a single frame, I would think that it is a true unblockable, however I would also think that you could parry to escape it. But, I dunno if that’s how the arcade handles simultaneous hits during a parry.
And it’s not like it’s impossible to parry the entire volley of knives from Ibukis SA.I.
I don’t think I’ll be making a Urien vid any time SOON-soon, just because I already kinda have stuff planned. I thought about making one a while ago, but I figure everyone already knows how to play Urien pretty well. Just BE Tokido! You can’t go wrong!
Haha, honestly though, I dunno when Urien will come around. If I make another 6 videos, one of them will definitely be him, but it may well be the 6th one. He’ll of course “guest-star” in other videos I make though, so you won’t feel completely left out. In fact, he should have a pretty prominent role in a section of my next vid. Stay tuned, sportsfans!
The thing about the setup I describe is that although you throw the knife before the super, the super actually hits before the lone knife. So it’s not like a Denjin, where you just have to change your rhythm. You’d actually have to luck out and just be parrying at the right time. Now, I won’t say it’s impossible, but in the few times I’ve done it to real people (I haven’t played Ibuki in like, a year) it’s never been stopped unless they pull a wakeup Shinryuken or something.
I know, I’ve seen it done several times and have tested this myself a few times.
The first volley of knives connects, then the jab knife connects at about the same time as the 2nd knife or 2nd volley of knives (can’t remember which).
But hypothetically, you could just parry the first 2-4 knives from the super and have the game auto-parry the jab knife, then just block the rest or keep parrying.
This is all assuming the arcade version auto-parries simultaneous hits…
Although, some characters actually move a little when they parry. Like Ibuki for example moves slightly backwards after each successful parry (and IIRC; Yun will move slightly forward). I don’t know if that slight movement is enough to avoid the jab knife, but it might be enough if you parry the first knife, then crouch block the rest of the super (avoiding the jab knife). Chun-Li and Oro might actually be small enough to simply crouch block the whole thing, avoiding the jab knife entirely. But I haven’t been able to test this, so take that with a grain of salt. I would like to get around to testing all this though.
i need help with a setup. with urien i do a midscreen down+hp xx mk tackle xx hp aegis xx hk knee drop should put me on the other side of the guy but i always end up still on the same side. am i doing it too slow? or is there something that im missing? or should i try my hand at dash charge partitioned ?p headbut?
oh woops forgot about that part. hehe thats what my problem was actually. after the final hk shoulder rush i cant get to the other side with a knee drop… i guess ill just have to learn how to partition…
I didn’t sift through the 8 pages in this thread so I don’t know if this has been posted.
Does Akuma’s lk hurricane kick, jab (reset) xx raising storm count as an unblockable? There’s no way to escape it if you do it fast enough. But you really aren’t doing a guard break either. So what’s up with this one.
there’s no way to escape Akuma’s KKZ after a jab reset because the initial hit is NOT parry-able. just like Gill’s Seraphic Wing (is that even the official name for it?) cannot be parried.
