I see a lot of posts that claim that there aren’t any new developments in 3s… those people don’t know anything about the game. As a 3s player you learn something new every single time you play it, whether it be a new technique/combo or just an approach to a certain situation. If you play 3s you never stop learning about the game. Anyone who loves 3s knows that. The game is constantly evolving, and it’s mysteries, limits and possibilities are still being unfolded. There was never a point where we discovered everything and every mechanic/detail of the game was revealed for everyone to see (like ST). Tiers are constantly changing as people beast with different characters, and there is usually at least a few major discoveries in execution every year (option selects, sggks, etc.). The last combo to be discovered was the keeper jin, but I’ve been playing for over 3 years now and I still see new combos and set ups all the time.
The tiers don’t constantly change. The top 3 have been the same for about half a decade. Hugo and Twelve might switch etc. but that is insignificant. At one time Dudley was either 3 or 4th.
Speaking of salty.
Too many keyboard warriors in here and none of them are up to a REAL challenge. If someone disagrees prove me wrong.
The top 2 have been similar for about half a decade, and even those two switch every once in a while. The rest of the cast changes places on the tier list all the time (Akuma, Ken, Makoto, Yang, Dudley, Ibuki, Urien, Oro, etc.). Stop trolling please.

Let me know when Makoto switches with Necro or Remy and then we can talk. Otherwise for the 2nd time it’s really irrelevant when a character switches from 12 to 13 or down from 10 to 9. So irrelevant that nobody but you is touting these tier changes.

It really doesnt matter…sf4 def has the potential to be braindead like 97% of the time but at itz highest levels…itz goodshit. 3s is still godlike in my eyes. People acting like evo iz the pinnacle of 3s comp in the US, there are only a few west coast top players who even show up like deadeye n ricky o. Its whatever really, the third strike players wont admit to the slightest that sf4 has potential (or ssf4 rather) and the sf4 players will forever claim that 3s is a bad game because they simply never was good enough at it to appriciate it. Kinda like how about 99% f the people who dont ( in most cases CAN’T) play marvel think its ass.
If it was at evo tho, i’d like to see 3v3 SBO quals at evo…because 3s is still at SBO and ssf4 might not even get a chance.:tup:

SBO format makes <Game> look good, so it’s the tournament’s fault for being in the wrong format.
Tournaments choose <Other Game> over <Game> because they aren’t listening to the players.
