3s Damage, and Stun

I know Akuma takes the most damage, I think he also takes the most stun.
But what’s the order for it in 3s. Who takes the least who takes a decent amount and whatnot…stun and damage.

i have a better question …who work stun scaling??

Every character takes the same stun damage, they just have different length stun bars. I’m pretty sure remy is tied with akuma for stun bar length, and ibuki takes the same damage as akuma. I’ll post actual list of chars if I can find one.

Highest

Q (x3)
Hugo (x4)
Hugo (x3), Q (x2)
Hugo (x2)
Hugo (x2), Q (x1)
Twelve (X.C.O.P.Y. of Ryu)
Chun (x1)
Hugo
Gill
Urien
Alex, Q
Dudley, Ken, Makoto, Ryu
Elena, Oro, Sean
Elena (Healing), Necro, Remy
Twelve
Yang, Yun
Ibuki
Gouki, Ibuki (Kasumi Gake)
Twelve (End of Ryu X.C.O.P.Y.)

Lowest

The above was taken from Chris MacDonald’s guide at Gamefaqs. I made
some space edits.

A few things to remember:

3rd Strike’s method of dealing damage is unknown, so two combos that do the
same damage to someone with a different # of hits may no longer do identical
damage when they increase their defense.

Depending on which version of 3rd Strike you are playing, 4x Hugo takes less
damage from some attacks than 3x Q.

Ryu, Ken, Makoto, and Dudley are considered “normal”.

Highest defense is actually XCOPY Hugo/Q with max taunts.
Lowest is the end of XCOPYing Gouki.

Stun Bar Length

Highest
Oro, Dudley, Q, Hugo, Gill, Alex(?)
Middle
Everyone else
Lowest
Remy, Gouki

Karathrow had stun recovery for everyone. I don’t rememer all of it but
Gouki is the worst with Oro close by, and Remy, Hugo, and Q recover fast.
Ryu and Oro are probably the quickest if you count their taunts.

Don’t Yun, Yang and Ibuki have smaller stunbars than the shotos/normal range, but better than Remy and Akuma’s? Is Remy’s stun bar decreasing faster than Akumas?

^I thought that too

Yun’s stunbar is the same size as Ken’s:P You can check with some matchvids:P

Ahh, excellent link. I stand corrected, Donkus was right.

Ibuki with a smaller stun bar? Jeez…she’s not THAT bad.

Chun li is out of place on that list. Maybe with a taunt, but her default is with the Elena, oro, Sean bracket, or at least lower than Urien, Alex, Q bracket. This i know…

Also, that stun data doesn’t take into account taunts.

Some characters get stun increases (ryu comes to mind) off taunts

Damage numbers on a Q jumping fierce, close standing forward xx SAII, fierce dash punch combo, and percentage of damage taken relative to others

Hugo: 86 (.843); 1 taunt - 80 (.784); 2 taunts - 74 (.725); 3 taunts - 69 (.676); 4 taunts - 63 (.618)
Q:---- 93 (.912); 1 taunt - 76 (.745); 2 taunts - 65 (.637); 3 taunts - 54 (.529)
Alex/Urien: 93 (.912)
Ken/Ryu/Dudley/Makoto: 99 (.961)
Sean: 101 (.990)
Elena/Oro/Chun: 102 (1.000)
Necro/Remy: 106 (1.039)
Twelve: 107 (1.049)
Yun/Yang: 111 (1.088)
Ibuki: 113 (1.108)
Akuma: 120(1.176)

And stun, based on number of dots in the stun bars:

Hugo, Q, Alex, Dudley, Oro, Gill (72 dots)
Chun Li, Makoto, Twelve, Ryu, Yun, Yang, Ken, Sean, Ibuki, Elena, Necro, Urien (64)
Remy, Akuma (56)

And stun recovery rate, based on number of frames it takes to recover one dot before dizzy:

Makoto, Gill (20)
Remy, Hugo, Urien (21)
Chun Li, Q, Ryu, Ken, Elena, Dudley (22)
Twelve, Alex, Sean, Necro, Akuma (23)
Yun, Yang, Ibuki, Oro (24)

That explains why I thought Yun/Yang/Ibuki seem to get stunned more often, they have bad recovery.

Wait… Wait, so can you randomly mash to recover more stun?

Sorry, I misspoke. Before you get dizzy, no, you can’t mash to lower your stun meter; those numbers measure how quickly your stun gauge lowers before you get stunned. Once you’re stunned you can mash out, yeah, but I don’t know whether any character naturally recovers from dizzy without mashing faster than any others.

I remember reading a faq about this a long time ago by Shiki Dan. Basically it said that characters recover naturally from being dizzied at rates based on the dizzy animation that appears when they get stunned. The different dizzy animations are grim reapers, angels, chicks, and stars. The order in which they seem to recover from being dizzied is:

Stars, Angels, Reapers, Chicks,

with stars recovering the fastest. However, the author had to do a bit of guessing when determining this order. It appears that the stars and angels have similar dizzied recovery times, as do the reapers and chicks. Anyway, here is a list of the 3s cast grouped with respect to their dizzy animations:

Stars: Dudley, Q, Sean, Yang, Yun
Angels: Alex, Oro
Reapers: Gill, Remy, Twelve, Urien
Chicks: Akuma, ChunLi, Elena, Hugo, Ibuki, Ken, Makoto, Necro, Ryu

I take absolutely no credit for any of this data. For anyone who’s interested in this topic, please refer to Shiki Dan’s Damage Data/Attack Info FAQ (DC) faq, which can be found on the 3rd Strike section of GameFaqs.

I find this thread extremely useful so I thought that I’d bump it.
