So I was driving home from school this morning and this idea popped into my head about which instrument each character in 3s would play in some kind of contemporary genre of music. I feel like everyone has enough aspects of their personality revealed to determine what instrument they’d be drawn to based on stuff like play style and attitude during win quotes and pre/post-round banter, even though we are not told much about the cast’s respective pasts. Then I was thinking like “Okay, so the Shotos could fit in a band. Ken would have to be guitar, maybe guitar/vox. Ryu would play bass, and Gouki would beat the shit out of the drums,” and I laughed my ass off for like the next three minutes thinking of the image of Gouki slamming the drums. Not like slamming like a death metal band with blast beats and shit, but like, playing a regular-ass rock song and never playing below 23513523112535321 decibels.
So, I thought about it and I thought it would be fun to get a thread to express our creativity when faced with interpretations of the characters in this manner. Let’s try to decide who would be drawn to which instrument, and who might fit in a band or group together. I’ll list some of my ideas to start us off 
The Shotos:
Ken on guitar or guitar/vox since he likes to be flashy and set his hands on fire like Guitar Hero III: 3rd Strike.
Ryu would play bass because he likes to work on the foundation of his style, while not boasting too much of an ego, like a guitar player.
Gouki would beat the shit out of the drums cuz he is angry and mis-understood. I don’t think he’d have the patience to learn the scales and shit needed to play bass.
I guess their genre would probably be like sort of prog rock, but not too out there to the point of being experimental. They all use a fundamental style of fighting, but still like to add their own twist.
DJ Q:
Q likes to be mysterious and not talk like a lot of today’s DJs. I don’t know if he’d be like a dubstep artist so much, but probably like the dude from Linkin Park or Slipknot and do collabs with rock bands as well as his own weird shit as a solo project.
Indie rock youthful band:
Remy would probably play bass or guitar, but definitely focus on technique, as opposed to Ken who I think would learn a lot of tricks. Think of Remy as Jimmy Page/John Paul Jones or something like that I guess, while Ken would be more like the AC/DC dude or Hendrix or something.
Ibuki on vocals cuz she would want to be the new starlet in town and kiss all the boys.
Makoto on drums cuz she is like Gouki and would like to beat the shit out of things. I think she probably has a little more willingness to calm down and learn good technique since she is still a newcomer in martial arts, so she’d be more respectful of learning from elders/the past.
Sean could be in this band and play like bongos or something stupid that no one would care about.
Yang/Yun could probably like interchangeably fill in keyboard or guitar slot, since we know from 3s that they have similar skills. Yun would probably be the better keyboardist cuz he is the custom combo guy, and keyboard is more limitless than guitar IMO.
