CPS3 built-in sound processor only matters for 12’s XCopy to filter chars sounds/voices samples.
Thrashcan shoryu, i guess, is just a (badly) resampled sample. Record digitally the right sound from a CPS3 board, replace the OE one and you’re good.
Don’t know how the sound data are addressed though, it may be not that simple.
But they were able to add those bad samples at first, they should be able to do it again with good ones.

I’ve thought about the Japanese players who speak English. The only candidates are Genki, Iyan, and Shie. Unfortunately, I dont know Shie that well yet. A Japanese player will be a project.
