Before igloobobās post gets buried in vomit, Iāll say that Iām interested in contributing to the grand plan in some way. I have some of the general technical knowledge that would be required for it.
They actually have this or itās something you want to happen?
bob i think you touched on something which probably no one wants to hear.
the future is not 'true 3sā
itās definitely emulation. i think getting it as close as is reasonable to how the game feels on arcade is great. going the extra mile to make it even better is probably impossible.
so what weāre really left with is agreeing to certain hard/software standards. like we use a certain emulator with certain settings. that should be the most basic and easiest thing for people to agree on and actually make happen. the rest is much more difficult but i still think itās possible to be reasonably specific about certain things like running win 7 with aero off and usb polling set to some standard hz.
that way anyone could put together a rig which conforms to some kind of standard.
unfortunately weāre at the point in the games life where we have to change our expectations.
all it would take is someone to start running an emulation tournament regularly with an agreed upon setup to encourage other people to ātrainā using that same configuration. and then our standard of what 3S is will be shifted. we will still recognize the glory of cps3, but accept that in 2015 that just isnāt something many people have access to. making the game only about the most die hard of fans isnāt going to keep things going. not that it needs to keep going but for those that want it to, i think thatās the direction you need to really consider. something that gives the smoothest transition from cps3 to emulation and allows people who donāt have cps3 to still be ālegitā.
it already exists, there should be a link to it in there.
@Tebbo
that may be where we end up but I feel like we shouldnāt give up on CPS3 so soon. emulation still isnāt close enough to be a good replacement, and at least at the moment thereās still a lot of working CPS3 kits in the world. IMO it should be approached from both ends - play on cps3 now, try to get cps3 setups into as many local hands as possible, but start thinking about what the best emulation path is and what we can improve. I guess my big hope at the moment is that we see more 3s offline events on supergun and less on console. OE isnāt horrible but there are certain areas where it definitely falls short of ideal.
but I definitely donāt think emulation should be ignored. itās super accessible, it has longevity that consoles donāt have, and it can be continually improved over time. the fact that ShmupMAME and GroovyMAME exist, or that low latency audio drivers exist, means that theoretically it should be possible to play 3s on PC with the exact same innate input delay as arcade. just by having that accomplished, youāre already a fair way down the road. the big question after that is how to get the speed exactly right. I think with what we know about refresh rate and game speed that we at least have a good place to start.
Alexisdabomb is lying about it. It was not ātrollingā. It was him really raging and really thinking hes good. Guess he didnāt know theres evidence:
@darkhiryuu

Thatās more or less what I mean.
i donāt believe in abandoning it or anything like that, just that its wise to realize thatās the direction it will go. and whatever the community can do to improve that and support it, make it a viable platform for fun, they should be doing that too.
yeah thatās what i mean about settings and config and what not. there needs to be some agreement and a standard setup. that would be the best thing going forward.
**I always find it funny you hate online so much yet you keep playing on there because you supposedly have no scene blah blah blah. **That must be torment to be such a 3s genius but be stuck playing on a platform with only scrubs and trolls.
This.
He has too much ego to admit he is just another online scrub. So he tries to make people think he āplays offlineā to feed his ego.
But in reality Alexisdabomb/Louiscipher is just a nobody that no one has ever seen offline, and no one ever will see. And he still trash at this game.
Viva la revolucion!
Fightcade is open source and built with QtPyā¦ I think.
Iāve always wanted to mess with it.
Going to go find the git repo for it.
Iām sure it can be edited by the community for the purpose of changing the roms it usesā¦
Am I assigning myself the task of doing it?
No, but I am throwing the feasibility of the task out there.
Since Bobās last few posts were the only ones of any merit, Iād like to say Iām looking to invest in a 3S supergun.
With the experience I had at Showdown, itās become obvious to me that if we want a quality tournament on a quality set up, itās up to the people who are passionate about the game to make sure that happens. With a bad set up, no one bothering to do commentary, a late start, and leaving the whole thing up to one guy to run it all, the whole thing felt like a lazy afterthought.
If anyone has any inside tracks on 3S superguns, I would be interested in at least checking it out. Texas canāt call itself a 3rd Strike state if itās biggest major is running OE on PS3.
^^ Good man.
Unfortunately thats how it is. At the heart of every tournament/session, you will find at least (usually just) one person who gives his all to make sure things happen. Never expect anything in returnā¦ just do it out of love for the game. A bit like someone I know who arranged tournaments and got setups etc etc just so that he could sit back and watch people play 3s.
So this is the photo of how Louiscipher aka Alexisdabomb looks in real life
And b4 he says we stalk him,. he puts his real name along with his nick everywhere. apparently advertising how hes a failed film maker and a writer
If there is any effort being put forth to further gap the learning process from the community then Iām totally and thoroughly against it. There is no learning without the community, there is only āstrengtheningā. And Iām using the word strengthen lightly. Being out of touch with the opponent will get you wins, sure, but it will also stagnate the games progress as only you will be winning.
My issue with the prevalence of training mode ever having to be brought up has to do with the fact that training mode is for you. Itās not something to talk about, the skills and your progress should be self-evident. If you say you busted out a sick ass combo sggk grand stand and Iām always expecting it, then you only played an out of 3rd strike mind game and your game is as shit as your waifu. Iām just trusting in your word more than your bond. That isnāt 3rd strike and it isnāt going to make anyone better. Itās just going to make me appear gullible and that reeaaallllly has nothing to do with 3s itself. I am also a stern believer that without some form of resistance, one can never grow. Trees grow against the wind and the turning motions of the earth. Training mode players grow against their own base instincts and condition their senses to make them more able in their execution. If you can execute consistently and are really just finding that you have trouble linking in mid match, then you should keep playing that player and practice your execution against them. If you canāt find the spots to execute or are constantly being driven out of your comfort zones, then you arenāt actually ready to function at that level of execution. Like, if in order for you to win at all, you need to poke and prod at your opponent as he sits next to you, or you need to distract him by slamming your stick, or if you need to gain an edge by looking over at their hands for cues on when buttons are going to be pressed, you arenāt playing 3s at all and you arenāt displaying skill in the matter of 3s. You are probably just an asshole.
I know this is going to be dismissed but whatever the case I want to offer up some help but only if I know that there will be zero focus on training mode. Regardless of how it all pans out, training mode will be different than a matchmaking mode because of the inherent latency of the situation so trying to create a training mode to strengthen execution in matchmaking will just create two separate games and most people will tend to ignoring the difficult one which in this case would be the actual matchmaking mode. Itās true and you know itās true.
Also, why do you guys always feel the need to gang up on Louis, anyway? Arenāt there more opponents you still canāt beat? Why donāt you go shadowbox them? Scrubs.
BillyJack why do you guys hate arooksame but choose arrtarksame, thinksame and leactsame too?
I donāt fucking get it!
You guys can disagree with Dander all you want about 3rd Strike but the truth is that ganging up on Louis is uglier than anything Louis does to the community. Youāre showing your immaturity and feeding Louisā troll at the same time. Just gunna make the problem worse for everyone. Stop being so friggin easy to bait into action people.
Talk about what Bob is suggesting. That has real merit for everyone. I donāt have the software knowledge to help with emulation but I hope to get a supergun one day for events. Back on track

As literal as these guys take everything ( probably got called gay a lot for wording things strangely lololol ) you really shouldnāt give them permission, see āa call to actionā, to disagree with me.
I donāt want to end up on some wiki with articles about my heroism. I donāt know anybody that would be willing to put forth so much effort and time towards something that has nothing to do with 3s only to prove that their methodology towards 3s is the true 3sā¦ I think that makes sense.
Anyway, donāt say shit like that. Please!
Fine.
Ahemā¦
Have a reasonable debat with Dander about 3s but leave Louis the fuck alone people. If some of you can only feel comfortable with a superior position then know your not getting sucked into a dirt fight. Let Alex3rdLouisStompwhatever say what he wants. Getting upset by his video is just sad.
Letās move on.
No.
Is that REALLY Louie? Thats what a tranny fapper looks like??
itās video dude, not wideo
Na, his real name is Alex Kattke or Alexander Kattke, not some Alex Villabos person. B4 he claims he is āstalked by trollsā he is the one that puts his real name everywhere on google with āLouiscipherā and advertise it.
His last name is Kattke and uses stupid profile names ā@Louiscipher (Alex Kattke)ā
He even wrote a review for a Logitech Fightpad (LOL) on Amazon using his real last nameā¦

Iāve used multiple controllers and joysticks. I prefer controller overall, I never saw an improvement in my execution with a stick, then again I donāt main charge characters in fighters. I suppose if youāre main is someone like Bison (Dictator) or Balrog (Boxer) then the stick would be better for you. Iāve been playing fighters since 2007 so I like to think I know what Iām talking about. Thereās been a lot of talk about the Madcatz fightpad and I decided to take the plunge. I should point out Iām using the Xbox 360 version, though Iād make the guess that thereās no massive difference between the 360 or PS3 version. What I like is the button layout. Gives you a lot of options. Plus it has turbo input. Now the negatives, and thereās quite a few: The shoulder buttons are stiff, Iāve been using this controller for about a week and I notice that theyāre inconsistent. For example, I do a taunt (normally I map HP and HK to the shoulder buttons) and about 8 times out of 10 I get that taunt. Not good. Next up is the D pad which looks decent enough, but Iāve found that more than a little stiff. Normally I can pull off an SRK (dragon punch) move no problem, 10 times out of 10 it will come out. Here, I have to make an over-exaggerated effort to get that out. Itās a little difficult to explain but to do the SRK in most modern fighters you do: Forward, Downfoward, Foward and Punch/Kick.That rarely works with the fight pad. With the Fight pad I have to do: Forward, Downfoward, Down, Downfoward, foward. Doesnāt sound like much of a difference, but it can make a huge impact on your performance. Just to give you an idea, the fighters I main are: Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Samurai Shodown V Special, KOF XI, and occasionally Street Fighter 4 or some Mugen project.Thereās a lot of weird things like Iām pretty decent with Yang from 3rd Strike, and Yang has a basic combo: Crouching MK, followed by the Tourou Zan (QCF+Punch 3 times). Really easy to do. I can do that combo maybe 5 times out of 10 with the Madcatz. If I do it with the madcats, I do the Crouching MK, then when I do the follow up I get Yangās SRK move (which doesnāt combo) or I get only 1 Tourou Zan instead of 3. The Tourou Zan is incredibly easy to do, you can mash it out and get it 10 times out of 10. With this pad, I get it out maybe 8 times out of 10, maybe I get one Tourou Zan and no follow ups. A lot of weird stuff like that. However with my Main Alex in 3rd Strike, I have almost no problems.
Yeahā¦ his name is Alex Kattke and if you search that on google you get a ton of funny things (and disturbing gothic shit {which he deleted from his youtube today}). Like how he keeps saying heās a failed film maker and a writerā¦ which by the way is where you see that photo of him. And apparently his āindie filmmaking forumā people know he is a crazy rager there too. Well we could be all wrong like maybe he uses Alex Villabos as 2nd name in real life. Who knows.
