I feel bad for anyone who only plays ggpo. Ggpo is the worst possible way to play 3rd strike in 2014. I cannot recommend this shit to anyone. if you’re gonna play ggpo, you’re better off not playing the game period. That is all.
I stopped playing recently on GGPO for a good 2 months for that reason. Runs 1.1x faster than regular timing.

radiofox56 here with a quick inquiry about Street Fighter 3 OE conduct. I know it sucks running into trolls(ufcgym) or the likes of PIKACHUAKUMA and not getting a serious match out of it. It is bad enough that there are fewer players playing online now a days, people just want a honest experience online if possible.
However, I just wanted to point out that people should not flip out on others just because they’re hitting the random button or choosing bad super arts. Recently I played Remy using his SA3 and was called a scum bag over it. Some dude even rage quit over my SA 3 Q. I’m not that good enough for people to be raging quitting over or being labelled a ‘internet warrior’. LOL No need to attack others, especially if nothing is being provoked. Now this isn’t coming from some random trolls online, these are generally good people I play often within our small circle of XBL gamers.
Just chill out and play the damn game. I didn’t think people got upset if you didn’t stick to your main and play your hardest. It’s just the game, who the hell gets upset over it online? Anyways, that’s my random inquiry. People just chill…

I usually like to mess around with other SAs just because I see online (especially ranked) as just a way to try stuff out. As a Remy player myself who sometimes uses SA3 because it’s fun, I’ve never run into anyone calling me out for using it, but I can see how someone could think it’s a troll super and that you using means you aren’t taking them seriously.
With that said, anyone that would call you out for something like that probably isn’t good enough to be taken seriously anyway.

it’s not bad, just different from OE. they’re both different from arcade so pick your poison (if you care about playing on arcade some day vs offline players). I’ll say for my part that playing online on any platform for a few days fucks me up when I go back to arcade. some people are better at adjusting than others.
Windows 8 seems to turn GGPO to dogshit. if you’re gonna play on GGPO don’t play on Windows 8, and turn off compositing if you’re playing on Windows 7. will likely save you some grief.

i would be pretty annoyed if i expected a proper game and the other person chose sean or a super which is absolutely terrible (remy sa3).
if you don’t know the person you’re playing, it’s pretty fucking rude.
just not something you do with people unless you’re already friendly or simply don’t care.
sa3 has no redeeming qualities.
if you’re ‘just messing with it/just trying to have some fun’ play vs a cpu.
‘just messing’ with another person is being a dick, straight up.
this scenario has been mentioned on the boards here a number of times. online or off you’re just a dick if you’re handicapping yourself. make whatever excuse you need to. ultimately you’re having your fun at the other person’s expense. the only time i think handicapping is fine is when it’s pretty much to tutor the weaker player and play more at their speed so they can learn.
You can pick a bad super and still play seriously. Of course, you may consider it as a form of handicap, but as long as the player is making the best of the situation they’ve put themselves in, it is by no means being rude.
Of course if they taunt constantly and generally sandbag along with picking a bad super, then that’s being a prick.
Well remember guys that while I’m intentionally picking the more difficult super art, I don’t mean to provoke a strong emotional response. It’s not making an excuse, I legitimately wanted to mention it and get feed back. Live and learn.
I’ve accidentally discovered that this behavior breeds negative reaction from the competitor; probably won’t do it again. I honestly do like using Total destruction Q and Hyper Bomb Alex… shouldn’t get people riled up though but I guess it does.
Anyways, if natestoppable(xbl) is on here, my bad bro.
I wouldn’t be able to play this game anymore with pretty much anyone if it weren’t for GGPO/3SOE. Yuuki just doesn’t care to lose to low IQ people in a less-than-offline environment. If that’s also your thing, then take his advice. If you’re low IQ yourself, you probably could benefit from any exposure of 3S you can get.
