Right now I’ve been training my Makoto to use a Strong uppercut or an SA III -> uppercut after red-parrying or just parrying the spinkick. Actually, I’ve just been trying to teach myself how to Jab uppercut after almost any parry because it usually means 50% free stun if I pull it off. Tough though. I need to do some DC work to figure out the meter gained through jab uppercut -> juggle compared to the traditional karakusa -> fierce -> hayate for 45% SA III meter.
Also, someone (I won’t mention who 'cause I don’t want him to get flooded by PM’s) gave me some Makoto setup videos from Evil Gill’s FTP. Almost makes me want to go back to the Abare Tosanami. ^^
DIscussing Urien for a moment: Is the Iron Chef Ginsu Chop ™ fast enough to hit Akuma in between hits of the spin kick? (probably not). I guess I would, in that situation, just default to C.Short -> Short Chariot for a clinch, but from there on you have to plan every move out because Akuma has so many more options than you do at that point. >_<
Hmmmm… Come to think of it, where DOES your Urien get most of his meter from? I know once you have an Aegis you can easily get your meter back through FAS setups again, so it’s sort of like a self-perpetutating Strider-Ouroboros sort of thing, but getting that first bar in the first place… nyeh.

One of Urien’s biggest problem with the spinkicks is that he won’t be able to hit Akuma low because Akuma has like 2 ground frames if he continually does spin kicks, it’s like a Yun dive kick really. Also c.short, short tackle does not combo reliably, c.jab–>short tackle does but 1) you probably won’t hit with c.jab 2) if you do, Akuma may flip out because he’s not grounded yet and short tackle will whiff or give an opportunity for parry. Akuma has no risk parrying forward in his 2 or 3 ground frames since it’s almost impossible to hit him low.
Hell yeah you know your shit fool. As much as i like Urien I know he has trouble against a good hurricane using Akuma. I wouldn’t try red parrying the spin kick cause you dont know which one hes doing. if you get hit by one kick your on the ground ready to get spin kicked again. Its so lame. i’m telling people this so they will try and beat my urien at n-cubed. And the only thing sean is lacking is speed. if you use the basketball its like having an assist character. If u can parry pretty good, have a good throw game,know how to use his roll, fake tackel, overheads and use the basketball sean is top tier. Believe what you want. Shoryu cannon always gets me an a or s!
I’m a Sean player myself (but Dudley is my fave at the moment). I once had a 21 win streak using Hyper Tornado Sean. I like Shoryu Cannon against the CPU, but against human competition, it’s Hyper Tornado for me :D. It fits my playing style more. Pokes, high-low mix-ups, fake tackles, rolls, pokes cancelled into taunt, etc.
I’ve never really used Urien much, albeit I know what insane amounts of damage you can get when Aegis is utilized properly. I just can’t get used to charging all the time. Maybe my approach is entirely off. Also, I have yet to see an Akuma player give Urien a problem. Then again, it’s probably because most players here don’t really know what problems his forward and roundhouse Tatsumakis can cause when employed “intelligently”.
Thats cool man that u play with Dudley, besides Hugo’s grab Dudley has the strongest moves in the game! Cross counter, and the fucken Back up punch geesh! But I think Alex will grab that apricott if its not exed. Your av may be wrong.
I played some of the Nebraska guys last year at MWC and they definetly know a thing or two or three about 3rd Strike. I played Sean a few times against them and they seemed to really enjoy the fact that I played him. Kinda how I like playing Hayato in marvel. So I don’t know why this guy is trying to say Sean is top tier or whatever but I guess he’s from Nebraska (or is he?) and they just have a thing for defending Sean. I think he’s probably just trying to say Sean doesn’t suck (which he does relatively speaking. Nah, he just plain sucks in this version) like how I say Hayato doesn’t suck.

What Cameron was trying to say about Sean, wasn’t so much that he’s top tier, but the fact that he can be a deadly adversary if he’s used in the right way. Tiers are almost irrelevent in 3s. Look at what Chikyuu managed to do everyone with 12. If 12 is so low on the tier why was he able to beat Yun’s and Chun’s with ease? Answer, Chikyuu knows how to play a smart 12. Likewise, Cameron (Nebraska’s best player) knows how to play a smart Sean.
Heh. SlimX and I were discussing what move for Dudley I should use for my avatar. I wanted Corkscrew Blow since it’s the super I use when playing against human competition, but he tested it out against Hyper Bomb, and Hyper Bomb won every time. The only time Corkscrew Blow hit was when Alex was out of range and as such, Hyper Bomb would whiff. So I asked him to test out Rocket Uppercut (which is what Dudley in my avatar is doing) and Rocket Uppercut clocks Alex every time. I still wanted Corkscrew Blow, but SlimX told me that if I went with that, I’d be the “butt of jokes in the 3s community.” So that’s why I went with Rocket Uppercut :D.
You guys need to be taken out of the country because you suck but think you’re good. After So Cal dominates Nebraska can you guys destroy your third strike machine to not make a mockery of the game?
