3rd Strike Match-ups

paul’s definition is more accurate: ume is the correct prediction of the opponent’s actions. further, ume can also be an action. what may look “random” may actually be “ume.” most people like to label errant attacks that connect as “random” because it’s easier on the ego, for it is not an easy task to accept people reading your mind.

brain…so…confused.

anyone wanna Ume me next week’s lotto numbers?

24 52 69 72 01 05 33

To get Ume u need two things:

Never get nervous, nor enthusastic, nor mad… no emotions.

Play a zillion and zillion matches against real good opponents.

I say, any good Urien player doe NOT throw random spheres or crushes.

izu in SBO1, a great example of good control of Ume (fukiage and low short xx SA1 at all the right and most random times)

makoto is all about Ume, however…

Ume-ken owns her for free : \

hehe if someone is using ume on you, you have to be random to throw them off.

sometimes you have to accept the fact that they know what you’re going to do next. so deny your instinct and do something else. this will hopefully lull them into expecting repetitions of non-existent patterns.

eh the first is just a trait of daigo and not necessary or sufficient for honing one’s ume.

ume takes: 1) a great body of knowledge from playing against live opponents
2) a great memory
3) not being too afraid to believe in yourself

p.s. no i’m not really back to get this thread into full-swing again, i’m just passing the time until girlies message me back on myspace. vagina owns sf.

you gotta evolve. ume players can get cocky and take unnecessary risks. hold down-back in pressure situations, yeah you’ll get thrown a couple of times, but that time when they try to fake you out with a walk-up super / shoryuken, you’ll make them pay for it.

i’ll revive the my opinion of japanese 3s tiers thread next time i’m bored. haha.

3S is the only game where I’ve seen at least 20 perfects happen a day on a machine.

3S is the only game where I’ve had players pat each other on the back after losing and say ‘too bad, unlucky’

Is that good or bad??
