well saturday was fun. we kinda showed up and acted like we knew what we were doing and they let us play in that big room.

chickenfat that is some crazy snow you guys got, downtown didnt have any snow, but further south (bloomington ?) got up to 9 inches

Chickenfat: Yeah, my brother works at Columbus and was telling me about that. Crazy weather!

20 inches?! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that much snow in my life.

it was so INSANE! i had never seen that much in my life either!my mom said she hadnt either!!LOL! making it that much crazier.thank goodness its melting, and will get around mid 40’s to 50’s again tommorrow.go away snow!lol.so,the gathering was awesomeness?was there ken?chun?urien!!oh my!!!

Good luck to all you guys at the tournament this weekend. Play smart, play within yourself, and don’t be so nervous. That is my simple advice no one asked for.

Yeah it was pretty fun. there was a few casual players up there that i hadn’t met before. too bad you guys didn’t make it, quite understandable though. thanks for the advice brent, i’ll keep that in mind. unfortunate you arent going to make it to FR though, you could do some serious damage im sure. see you there Chickenfat.

FRX!!!see you guys tommorrow!!!hahahahaa!!!

There are two types of players in these tournaments. There are 1) the Indiana guys and there are 2) those who want to be Indiana guys (chickenfat for example). Anyway you all be sure and post up here how things went down at the tourney. I want stories.

— edit —

Mario, I see you did excellent at 3S. Have you been practicing hard? What happened dude?

I stayed in winner’s until my 4th match which was J. Wong and then… You can guess what happened. LOL.

Guilty Gear was the tourney of the night though. It sounded like a small concert in their tourney. LOL

What character(s) did you use? I’m expecting Urien but you might surprise me with Hugo or even… gasp… Oro!!!

Awesome

Mario, I’m very happy to hear that you did so well at Final Round. It seems that all that hard work has really paid off for you! :nunchuck:What characters did you use?

I hadn’t been doing well with urien mirror matches so I started with gouki and won both matches but just barely against another urien player. My next too matches I won with urien against a ken and then a dudley. The dudley was solid but fell for a lot of aegis traps.

The 4th was justin and I went urien and took half his life the first round. Apparently this made him take me a little more seriously and then he … went on to beat more badly than I have ever been beaten in a video game in my life. I will leave out the details for my own dignity. LOL

I went urien and then ken against a makato. Don’t know the guys name but he’s in the final 9. I couldn’t touch his makato with urien but I was able to win a round with ken in the second match. The competition was too solid that high up in the brackets.

Thanks to Dave for coming out the Saturday before. The added practice made a big difference. I doubt I would have done that well without those casual matches at gameworks.

Humbag’s match against B.B.Hood was awesome. Too bad that one didn’t get taped.

Antwan (Alucard who won the michigan and cincy tournies)- Lost his first match against a good chun li and then preceded to beast his way to get back up to 17th.

Deviljin- was a lot of fun to watch.

Yea Dood 120% seemed to celebrate whether he won or lost and took pics with all his opponents. Happiest gamer I’ve seen. LOL. Cool guy and really good ibuki.

R.P.D. - Came dressed as Q. LOL. Just awesome. He had the red tie, hat, trenchcoat, the whole get up.

Thanks for the props Tim.

i got owned.
started as hugo fell back to urien if i lost first match
won 1st set vs a urien/ken
lost to chun-li
lost to ken
basically just choked again. think i could have done better.
just check the results page. nice mario, makin 17th place. better than my 65th hah…
seemed most of the crowd was there for GG, chickenfat got 17th which is coo.

great games this weekend guys!had soooooo much fun!ahhhh, sad its over.it was awesome however seeing you guys again.hopefully at some point we all get to play again.great job in tourney by the way fellas!17th riot!!woot!great job man.dont worry gone, your urien and hugo is top teir easy my friend.hope to play more with you in the near future.if your heading to mwc,ill probably see you there.iowa, emmmm, ill have to look at the time and stuff.if james(humbag) is doing something,i might make that.but, ill look into all this.chances are since i dont think the weather is going to be that crappy anymore,i really can make it over there to play.we’ll work it out.laters!

I watched some of your axl when I got the chance. Good stuff, man. You’ll have to teach some of the basics when you come out. Guilty Gear was hype!!! I want to be a part of it.

To bad we only got a couple of matches in. Until next time, beware of Team Fat!!LOL

Justin- The opposition was fierce at final round and your last two matches were really close against tough opponents and I’m sure you dominated your first match.

can’t wait for these new street fighters to come out. Abel looks like a beast. and the changes they are making in HD wont bother me much since i dont know sfII very well.
i guess thunderhawks grab is half circle now instead of 360… kinda dissapointing

anyway, people should try and make it to indy some weekend to get some games in.

Justin, are going to be getting HD remix and the eventual SFIV port on the 360?

yes, according to FightersGeneration.com sfIV will be on arcade, ps3, and 360. hopefully they will all come out at the same time, but who knows. and HD will be downloadable for 360/ps3 from what ive heard.

its gonna be the shit!

Hey I posted about this not too long ago in the Ft. Wayne thread and thought I should probably post here too. It’s regarding the SBO tournament in Northbrook, June 20-22.

Who all is even interested in going? And I guess out of that group who is very sure they will be going as opposed to not sure or don’t care one way or the other (basically 1-10 how serious are you about going, a 10 equalling “I’ll roll myself there in a wheelchair if I have to”).

Just curious because I don’t know what your plans are and plus I don’t know about any plans of some of the IL, OH, or MI players I know but I’m trying to figure out what possible room situations might be. I’m planning at staying at the Red Roof Inn from what you can like literally see the arcade it’s so close. I don’t want to book a room if there is someone else I can stay with or likewise I don’t want to book a room on the promises of other folks saying they will chip in on $ and stay in my room but then back out later to stay with other friends.

And truthfully I’m also interested in ride situations. Say there is a vehicle going from Indianapolis to this tournament that only has 1 or 2 folks in it. Well then I’d rather drive like 2 hours to tag along with you guys as opposed to driving 4 hours from where I live to get to Northbrook.
