I think it might be the taunting that gets them to change to denjin ryu, not that they’re angry.
Using Chun Li is harder than I thought it’d be. Who knew.
then they lose 1 game and switch back to who they were using before. lol

I dont know but maybe this is what he means, closest thing you’ll probably find.
Yeah that one. There’s more footage on John Sheppards channel.
how do you guys feel about mirror matches for characters you play? what’s it like, are you good at it, stuff like that.
It depends. Vs another Remy player it’s a bit of a crapshoot. If I can get away with playing pretty aggressively and if they aren’t ready for that, I destroy them. If they’re more careful, which means I have to play more careful, then it can be like an SF2 Sagat mirror, in which case I might lose out fo boredom.
Hugo mirrors can be fun, especially if the other player is aggressive too. My Hugo mixups are decent so I usually win those, unless I’m playing someone who gets a life lead and then runs away for the rest of the match.
I miss playing Killerscout’s hugo

Question. I was playing an Akuma online earlier with my Dudley, I knocked him down, threw a rose on wakeup and did SA3 right away because it seemed like a good idea at the time (I thought he’d try to shoryu…I dunno why I thought that.) Instead, he parried the rose, then raging demon’d me. My SA3 came out like, immediately after the rose parry. I didn’t think squeezing a demon into that time frame was possible. I just tried it in training mode, and couldn’t do it. What am I missing here? Hopefully it’s something really simple, because I tried to record the match, but my PS3 decided freezing was a better idea.
Buffer the demon while you’re waking up, parry, then finish the demon input
I interact quite a few online “styles” like the rest of you do but on rare occasion, I play someone who really throws me a curve ball.
*RPD loses match
*Opponent types: “Yup yup”
RPD : “That was a good read. Definitely your match”
Opponent: “Whatever”
During the remaining matches, any areas I get some good damage in elicits a “…” or “*yawn”. Basically, the opponent types out an acknowledgement of the “obvious” of me not being a challenge whenever I lose a round or match, but citing a corny reason why I won a round or match. Then they refuse to accept a compliment for a good read or set up they get on me. It’s like someone who receives no enjoyment from playing the game, so why play? It’s almost trolling but it doesn’t feel like it, it feels 100% legitimate that’s their viewpoint on the game. I mean I get it with a troll, I’ll get a “fuck you”, whether I win or lose the round/match. But playing someone like the above stated is perplexing and sucks the fun out of the set. I’ve never been able to understand this player archetype.

Oh right, I forgot the input can tolerate additional forward inputs. Still, the timing on that is super weird, is that really a thing Akuma players do or was it just a huge gamble that he had to dedicate himself to and would’ve ruined him if I’d jumped instead? I never know what to do against Akuma in the corner, he’s got a meterless reversal AND a teleport AND raging demon (KKZ is more of a boon than a problem, in my experience).

There are a lot of shitheads who play this game sadly, online just makes it worse
vs Akuma I like delayed attacks on his wakeup. gets around wakeup parry, you’ll block if they wakeup uppercut, will block wakeup tatsu, and you can watch and you can react/punish if they teleport. obviously in 3s nothing is ever the solution to everything but he’s a character where I think it’s a good idea to not always attack meaty.
if Akuma is saving up his two bars so he can wakeup demon or wakeup KKZ I think that’s a poor use of meter. could’ve used it for something better. I don’t see it as a huge wakeup threat since it’s such a low % guess and requires a lot of resources.
Agreed on the last point, and pretty much all online Akuma players do it (including myself circa a year ago, which is a big part of why I dropped him. no self control). I can’t deal with even the most basic fireball spam in lag, but plenty of times Akuma players have given up a convincing lead because they thought doing wakeup KKZ in the corner against Dudley with meter was a good idea.
For any of the people who have had experience in Japan:
I was wondering why exactly the important Japanese tournaments tend to be team format. You know, SBO, Coop Cup, Yabanpaku, even Maniax.
Any specific philosophy why they steer away from big 1vs1 tournaments?
