3rd Strike at Super Battle Opera: history and stats

??? (Yang) = Wo Mei Lung
That is his nick name. It sounds like an animal’s name (I’ll ask him later). His real first name is ? “Chung”.

You went to the wrong arcade. You should go to Prince Edward. PM me if you need more info regarding HK 3s arcade scene.

Hol Horse - Thank you for such wonderful and informative post!!! :clapdos:

I updated the first post with updated brackets and stats after 2009 results. Enjoy!

Thanks.

Kuroda’s gone back to Q eh?

In 3s, not happening.

On the Daigo note, he’s good but amongst the top 3s players by today’s standards I don’t think he holds a candle, even in his 3s prime.

I don’t think Daigo was ever top 5 3S, even on his prime. But try telling that to people that jizz over that EVO moment

Daigo’s thing is, he’s good at fighters in general, so he’ll be top dog in whatever he seriously dedicates himself to - But there are a handful of 3S-only players that are better than him at that specific game, just as they should be

This

those SBO points can rly show what formed teams will be the strongest and whos the most consistent to have on a team for SBO

like say next year a team of players containing individual points of 20 or more would be a favorite to make the semi finals

ill be using this next year to pick out the favorites

maybe place some bets on some teams :wgrin:

I want to see YSB footage. I hope he’s improved :open_mouth: Gogogo YSB, leave Hayao’s shadow

I updated the OP with this new stats:

Players with most wins throughout SBO history ('04 to '08)*

  • note: I don’t have neither I can find complete footage of the first edition, matches played in 2003 are not counted since I don’t know the scores of most fights; I will update with '09 results as soon as I get the DVDs. If complete 2003 footage indeed exists and someone has it, it would be very appreciated to have the exact scores, or at least any help you could give to me.*

Trivia:
Umezono got the most losses so far (9)
Umehara has a measly score of 1w, 2l, and since exists footage of his first round in '03 when his team was OCV’ed by Yukino, it’s pretty safe to say that his whole SBO score is 1w 3l, which is like the worst score ever for a SBO champion. The irony, he got his ONLY win against KO, the player who won most games without ever getting the title.
Best “team” not ever winning SBO is K.O., Yukiotoko, RX. I think they should team up next year :stuck_out_tongue:
Hayao’s win ratio is probably going down if I ever get 03 footage to fill our results, but since he went out in second round there’s still a mathematical chance he could keep that win ratio.
with 03+09 results KO probably reached 30 wins. Really, no player deserves the title more, it saddens me.
People who were at SBO this year said that Kuroda OCVed 3 teams before losing to momochi. That means than in SBO’09 alone Kuroda won more games than every other edition combined

I can sum this up easiar, SBO 3s history 03-09=Yun/Chun.

ummmm no you cant…shut up
