Hello, I am playing alpha 3 on playstation and I find it extremely hard to do the 360 throws on the playstation controller.
I can’t do it at all…
I tried using the analog stick too…thought that might be easier but still…
How can I properly make these 360 moves with this controller?
I keep just ending up jumping up and doing a jumping punch or kick.
360s don’t require a full 360 motion, 270 does it. (3/4 rotation) with that in mind, the easiest way to do a standing 360 is starting at forward or back, and rotating so that up is the last direction you hit. if you are jumping using this method, you’re not hitting attack early enough. most characters can actually cancel the first frames of their light attacks into their grabs, meaning you can hit jab super early and do the grab via negative edge. (but don’t depend on this, iirc it reduces the range of the spd/whatever)
things that are easier than a standing 360: empty jump 360, wakeup 360
Actually, cancelling a normal into a 360 (in Zangief’s case, his standing Jab) increases the range on his SPD. By cancelling the normal into his 360, you bypass his jumping animation, the cause of the range reduction.
something ive noticed recently about the controller, ps2, tho this could be in general, is that its alot more sensitive than ive given it credit for. To find out just how much pressure you need to get an input to register, touch it as lightly as you can, and wait about a second to see if you get a response. Keep doing this, incresing the pressure progressively until you find the point of just getting a response. I use the jab button for this test, tho any will probably work. Once you know just how much pressure you need, 360s will become very easy to do, and will be the last problem on your list when playing on a pad, whether online or in person.
