Funniest moment waz when Josh waz driving us back at like 12:30 in the morning(he waz driving random for alittle bit). So Mike Infinite asked Josh if he knows where he waz going and if we were good. Josh waz like “No”, then Mike waz like he keeps it mad real… I waz lmao that shit waz too good.

EX Sucker Punch- Eventually I’ll dig through these boxes and try find my old SNES.(the clips are popped out so I could play imports back in the day like Super Fire Pro X Premium and DBZ HD…) Maybe we’ll get some Hyper Dimension matches going at he next one. Nice meeting you man.
Tournament did have some issues. First I want to point out that I know they are not easy to run, and can bring the stress at times. I thank you for the tourny. I think a little more organization would help. Have certain TV’s designated for losers, others for winners. Something needs to be on top of the TV’s with a designated number. The transition from the main table (where we would report to after hearing our name called) to the actual game station would be a little smoother. If I took a loss already, I know the general area I have to walk over too. The losers station. Reporting to a table and then trying to find a random station to play at with 2 other sets of players doing the same, can be a little chaotic. Plus having “pit managers” or people in charge of their own winners/losers station for said game, would give the organizers a little more control and transition ease. Everybody reporting to Tekken 5 pit manager A is obviously in winners. Everybody reporting to Tekken5 pit manager B is in losers.
I think it should work like this…
Example, Shinshay is one of the 3S winners pit manager. Me and Moose are the players in question. Main table calls up Jive Turkey and Moose over the speaker. We report to the main table. We are instructed to head over to 3S. Remember, in double elim tournies, the only match that is not winner vs winner or loser vs loser, is the grand finals. So seeing as I haven’t lost yet, naturally that means Moose hasn’t lost yet either. So we report to Shinshay. Shinshay tells us to get on station #1,2, or 3. If none are available, we get on stand by. After our match, we report back to Shinshay. Only the winner speaks. Shinshay records it, and instructs the winner to head back to the main table and report the outcome for their bracket records as well. Loser is now free to walk away. Main table, upon receiving said information, understands a station is now open for 3S winners, or at least the stand by deck is vacant. Immediately call another pair up.
This keeps the pit managers at their designated game at all time. And with the designated fight stations for losers and winners, when we report, we know we stand right there wait if nothing is available. Prevents the pairs from walking around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to figure out if these guys on station so and so just started, or about to finish. It is important that only the winner speaks to the pit manager, but both winner and loser must be present. We had a little bit of a fiasco at our last Fayetteville tournament because of wins being reported incorrectly. However, the loser is free to walk away after the manager records it and instructs the winner to inform the main table of the outcome.
That’s one thing I noticed too when I first got here. There’s really no middle ground. You have Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville(where I’m currently at). It’s no different than what I’m used to up north, in general. But, it seems anywhere outside of these NC cities, it’s hickville. I’ve been down to SC, it’s even worse. They don’t seem to have any hick-free zones.
You won’t find a single person in Fayetteville who gives a shit about Nascar. It’s a military community.(Fort Bragg and Pope AFB) And for some reason, it seems like most of the population here that are not military, are transplants from up north somewhere like me.

Okay, I noticed there were at LEAST 2 or 3 TVs during most of the time I was there that were not used for ANYTHING. One or two had a console hooked up, but no one was near/using them. I asked if I could hook up my PS2 to one of them, but was denied. Then I saw “POKEMON FUCKING PUZZLE LEAGUE” being played on a TV. Was it a staff TV or brought by the player? If it WAS a staff TV, then I believe I was treated unfairly because I would’ve at least put on a more relevant game of either #reload or SCII. Hell I even saw peeps playing DDR in the back with controllers. :lame: Non-tourney related games shouldn’t have priority over even casuals of tourney related games unless it was a personal TV.
And then there’s Smash. Was it THAT big a turn out for it to be on the big screen? Or was it the staff’s bias? I don’t know. I still had a fun time, but the staff was definitley overwhelmed by the turnout and time management was the main issue(did T5 start @ 4pm or am I wrong?) Hell the GGXX#Reload guys weren’t even allowed to get a TV until one of our own brought one.
I know the staff did the best they could, but here’s a few suggestions from my experience there:
Unless there’s a demand of 16+, scrap CFE. Doesn’t seem there’s enough love for it.
More staff.
Looks like no one plays Madden, so screw that.
It seems double elims is the way to go in most cases.
