man I love 2v2 for when alot of ppl are around you know like 10 ppl only 2 wii’s rather than FFA which turns into 3player FFA which is 2v1 which the sides switching.
So the standard rules we play by go like this.
2 teams, team damage on, 3 lives, sometimes with items but more often than not no items. Here is the part that probably differs from most other rules, the person on the losing team with least KILLs is out, not least points least kills so in otherwords team kills add to your kill count :P. Suicides(no emos) do not just check on the next page of stats by pressing A when the game is done.
In case of tie follow this order to determine who goes out from bottom team.
Most Deaths (in case of stolen lives)
lower damage done
higher damage taken
This adds so much extra fun that arises from the whole hey we are close my teammate is going to die any second now (160%) ohh well jump up and kill him, and even worse stuff will occur in our quest for kills. Plus it helps in serious team play most of the time I get hit bad from my teammate is when he goes out of his way not to hit me. IDK why we started playing like this but for some reason its just more enjoyable plus it often results in far more “epic” kills. BTW gaining all 9 kills results in everyone telling you how awesome you are / a *** for killing your teammate all 3 times.
I would also like to know if else plays alot of 2v2, and to tell ppl that team damage OFF is gay, case and point pikachu+wolf team equals zoning from hell.(pit,falco,luigi,IC, yoshi(O_O), and zelda(mostly for the saftly off the smashes not the over B) are also quite good team zoners.)
Also I would like to point out to always take your allies life, as long as both of you are decent and no one is IC, cause other wise ppl will just do a grab infinite. Incase you don’t know someone grabs and mashes A real fast when the person breakouts they will slide a short distance away while the other person grabs them before they can do anything repeat ??? profit, btw have the person not grabbing do ~ 1 solid hit each time.
dammit I wish we had some vids of the team matches gahh there is so much betraying, and stupidity, and pretty amazing recoverys.
