I got a better suggestion…why not work on this supercade, but leave 2df unchanged, this way we will have 2 options to play with.
2df is great, don’t throw it away in the recycling bin!!!

Hey can someone tell me if there is something im doing wrong here…When trying to run the supercade app it asks me to show where my ROMS are located on the comp…I was locating the SAME folder that i use with GGPO…Now i know that supercade has more games but I was trying to run 3rd strike using the same ROMS folder as I do with GGPO and it shows ROMS are missing…My GGPO runs fine but for some reason the Supercade app says Im missing my ROMS…Do I need to obtain new ROMS for supercade alone and is there a procedure on how to get this to work? This supercade program is very bare, has no forums for help or nothing…Can someone help me out please…Thnx

Went to play on 2df yesterday and I found the abrupt change to be an unpleasant surprise but I’m betting Damdai will have this new site eventually running better than 2df.

hmm, its not reading my roms, and…its a bit weird, imma give it a few days for damdai to get everything together, it’ll come together hopefully soon.

Did it use to read your roms and now it doesnt? Im only asking because Im new to this application but my GGPO runs fine and my ROMS arent being recognized on supercade either.

I could understand tons of replays would have been a problem; but now “2df” seems worse in everything

yeah, I have the right roms, ggpo, and the old 2df read them perfectly, now its not.

Samurai Shodown V SP players here, it couldn’t detect our roms so we’ll wait until GGPO can emulate Samurai Shodown V Special or until Damdai can organize things. This does seem like a downgrade tho. :<

i tried a little this new “2df”, and i dont like how it looks and how it works now but the replays are still there (when u finish a game, the programm asks u if u want to save the replay), although u cant check them online.
anyway, no lag matches and my roms work

Yea why is 2df down? how long will it be down for? Is damdai making new site? wtf is going onn. I play ss5sp on 2df every once in awhile. If it comes back up i can give rom links.

Well i finally got my ROMS to work…I was using the same roms that i use for GGPO and it wasnt working for Supercade…When i went to the games tab in supercade I noticed the games their require more rom files in some cases then GGPO did…Hence the reason why 3rd strike wasnt working…It takes 2 rom files to run 3rd strike i beleive on GGPO and for supercade it takes 3 so indeed i was missing a rom…Im sure this doesnt pertain to every game but long story short if you are using the same roms from GGPO for supercade its likely you are missing one.

I’m just glad 2df wasnt shut down completely. You guys should just be thankful for Damdai for keeping his sht running.

this thing worked fine for me, as long as no one was using the internet whether it be browsing or downloading anything all my games were fine

idk how you guys get laggy games, but all of my games were great minus the usual lil delay but that was due to distance

Uh ok i checked out supercade and i only have 1 problem. Why is there a ping restriction? Some one said its at 120 ping. But you can play decent games inn 150-170 ping. That is the only problem i have. I enjoy being able to play japan.

When i first signed on earlier it showed a few updates that were made and one of them was the ping was increased to 150. I dont think there should be a cap at all but thats just me.

Wow this is bad. Garou was already in a steady decline, this is a deathblow to it.

Well not for the french though, but they probably schedule games outside of Supercade anyway.

here’s 2 mockups with a couple of ideas i suggested:

  • two lists to choose from when starting a new session (one with all games, one with favorites)

  • X red icon to end current session

  • option to autosave replays at the end of a session without confirmation

  • Friends frame instead of “Most active users” with a hover menu (Invite to session - if hosting, Private Chat in the IRC applet, View Profile, Remove) and a status icon (online, playing game X with Y player, hosting game X)

  • IRC web applet… there are several open source options with standard functionalities

  • Events tab - this would benefit from the brackets software already on Tonamento… weekly cups in various games ran by trusted community members would be great.

  • Replays tab - i don’t know if damdai plans to support replays like in 2DF because of traffic concerns. this section would be cool to contain User’s Replays (hosted locally) and Events Replays from the various tournaments held (hosted on the server)

  • Stats tab - stats saved by the emulator for the current user, basically the stats 2DF had before (char usage, win/loss ratio, personal matchup table etc.)
