yup.
There was somewhat of a confirmation in an interview a while back from someone who is doing the capture for one of the characters (Liu Kang maybe?) about them re-shooting footage for the game.
I think the guy even came on a message board on one of the sites and talked a little about it. But I don’t remember where I saw it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve thought of something we haven’t yet in how they’re re capturing the fighters.
Maybe they’ve got something up their sleeves or a sort of technology that allows them to capture the actors in the same poses as the old games that will let them use the same hitboxes?
Who knows.
I believe you’re talking about Anthony Marquez’s son.
ya and then he confirmed that he was taking pictures just for fun in the kung lao shit.
who knows what they’re doing, the game is supposed to come out in less than a month and we haven’t heard shit or seen anything. i mean, i’m not really skeptical anymore since ed pretty much confirmed it, without saying when, but it’s just we need to see at least a picture or something.
Well, he just said the pics that were out on the net were not from the captures. He did still confirm he was working for WB, but he didn’t make it entirely clear if it was MK9 or a different project.
But yeah, nothing we can do but wait at this point. I still think it’s safe to say we won’t be seeing anything next month.
I hope this game comes out next month.
it just seems so weird, like everything we know right now. m1-umk3 compilation, so does that mean all 3 of those games in HD? of course not, since they were re-filmed with new actors and shit. ok, so does that still mean they shot 3 separate games, with their own style? that to me doesn’t make sense, it just seems logical to shoot one game with all the chars from those 3 games into one game. yet, they’re calling it a HD Klassics Compilation, with a box art that had all 3 arcade cabs next to each other… so, it just doesn’t make sense, not yet at least.
He did confirm he’s working on MK9, and it was in this very thread. I read on some other MK forum that Taylor did try out for the MK HD project at some point, but it wasn’t clear if he got the job. I’m sure he can’t confirm for us whether or not he’s involved in it until it’s at least announced.
^^ Exactly.
Ok cool, thanks for clearing that up. At the time I didn’t realize he said he was only working for MK9.
I want to believe!
When I see it.
I’ll believe it.
The way things are going, NRS/WB should just release it as a collectors edition with Mortal Kombat (2011).
I actually wouldn’t be upset with this
As long as it is good and has netplay to grab more players / get more players interested in 2D MK. I would prefer a new standalone release of the game though. It would seem kind of shitty to hold an offline tournament knowing it was off of an “extra” disc to a game, or having to choose it from menus on a MK9 disc.
The only extras they have released didnt have netplay thus far.
So I guess it’s safe to say this game is not gonna happen.
I’ve been checking out CAG’s Kmart gamer thread for the last couple of months now , which had MK Arcade Collection release date w/ a promotional deal. A couple of days ago, the Kmart service rep updated the thread and removed MKAC from the list.
I’m still thinking there’s a chance that this will be released with MK2011. Of course that’s just my opinion.
R.I.P: MK HD Kollection.
The hype was fun while it lasted.
What? So it’s not happening now? Either way, the November 16th release is looking grim considering it’s two weeks away and we haven’t gotten one comment from WB. If it were going to come out in two weeks it would have to be finished by now yet not even a single screenshot? Something’s not right.
I’m worried too. Are they gonna stick UMK3 back up on XBLA then if this fizzles out?
Well this is gay. I’m boycotting MK9 cuz of this gay shit!
