Her assists only suck because she isn’t Doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom
2015 UMVC3 SRK Tier/Theory Discussion. 7/10 First Page Tumblr: Power of snapback, Future power teams
Fixed, but it’s my personable opinion.
I actually don’t dislike MODOK’s beam assist, but think it’s not a top 5 beam assist. It’s just good to have for incoming mixups, and people who chickenblock. At some distances, the average character can’t really crouch it(if you notice the longer modok’s beam travel, the wider the hixbox increases). It’s not as not as dominate for making momentum, or controlling neutral space.
I mean believe that MODOK’s beam is one of the best projectiles in the game…on point. Because the speed, the anti-air hitbox being as good as Thor’s mighty spark, the muti-hit, and the fact that he can actually convert into to actually kill. I just don’t think it’s as good as an assist.
You know what would be cool. If they gave Sentinel his cr.H as an assist.
Only if it was mvc2’s crouching spit.

spiderman still sucks tho, same with shulk. leveled frank can’t really do much if they get hit on purpose ;;
Perhaps the only way out of the Hyper-Grav set up is to push block VERY late. I haven’t tested it, but that might work.
Either way, that shit is stupid fun.
late pushblock basically shouldn’t work if the setup is timed correctly.
if you pushblock before the flash, it’s free.
a correctly timed super would make it impossible to pushblock after the flash as i had to DHC to uwt immediately if i didn’t see pushblock
I never checked out your blog cause I don’t have a tumblr, so I’m not sure who those 3 characters are. I’m guessing its something like Zero, Viper, and Vergil. I do think Wesker’s neutral is really strong though. I think his only problems comes from characters who can fight at SJ height, which is where Vajra comes in. However tourney wins aren’t really all I’m talking about though. It was just one of the double standards I see often.
Another is how he handles the Morridoom matchup. I remember so many people on here saying how Wesker wasn’t that good anymore, while using his matchup against Morrigan as an examples. I mean its like no one saw how Chris G was beating every Viper, Zero, Spencer, Wolverine, Doom, and Magneto he came across. Those characters were just playing the matchup wrong, but all the Wesker’s were losing because Wesker sucks.
It all depends on what you need the beam for. Getting in, locking down, sniping assists…each of those beams ranks differently for each of those criteria. I don’t think I’d put unibeam above doom or strange for any of them though…highly overrated assist
Feral whiffing, it’s basically Feral crouching and Somersaulting on the first possible frame.
It’s used for Feral “somersault” whiffing where you rapid fire somersaults (if done right, Jill should just say the “S” portion of Somersault)
If they meaty you doesn’t that lose though? I know how to rapid fire them, but on wake up when Feral crouch has 10 frames of start up, That’s not a wake up option with 10 vulnerable frames there especially in this game.
This is very true, but when a character has to “power up” (DT/Gucci Belt for instance) to take the upper hand, I see it as a disadvantage. Spending meter to gain advantage does have some benefits, especially in Vergil’s favor, but Swords only puts Vergil at a disadvantage in the long run, since he won’t be killing Taskmaster off a stray hit, while having swords active, unless X-factor is used. Then, there’s also the scenario that neither player has meter/X-Factor, where the momentum shifts to Task’s favor.
I say overall it’s a (6-4) Taskmaster playing it at an even match. With Vergil having meter, it just becomes (5-5) even. I honestly do not see how Vergil gains the upper hand without meter.
I see, it’s still a possible reversal though and it still wins out if they mistime their meaty.
Somehow people tend to forget Wesker can be put in a slot that isn’t anchor.
and that he has a 1f command grab
and that his normals are among the best in the game
and his teleport is arguably the best in the game in terms of utility
and he has better combos than BBCS relaunch BBCS
and he abuses all of the busted assists well except for Missiles.
He loses to Morrigan pretty bad but then again so does almost all of the cast.
He’s around 7-10 in my book
10 frames is a really huge window, that’s actually one of the reasons I suggested reducing FC start time by 2-3 frames in the balance thing for her. Some characters can rapid 3 jabs during the time it takes for her to activate and still be okay.
For a reversal to be legitimate it needs frame 1 invulnerability or active, even at frame 2 it instantly becomes less valuable when you’re recovering from something.
Wesker is not top tier, but he is very good. He’s the only character they saw fit to give a teleport that lets him run away, and most people don’t pay much attention to how amazing that is.
I just saw the stuff from the front page showing the True Guardbreaks.
Does this mean that Sentinel is officially High-Tier now?? Since only he, Phoenix, and Morrigan can escape with their supers.
Also, it’s pretty good tech and it make She-Hulk slightly useful again.
i can’t agree with the idea that vergil using spiral swords is a disadvantage
the entire reason why spiral swords is ridiculous is because if he gets a successful activation, it limits the opponent’s options in the next few seconds to a very small select few options… yes it costs a meter but the implications of spiral swords are just too strong to be ignored. once he activates it, he is impervious to so many things in the game, and doing almost anything is free to him. if he wants to approach or get near them, spiral swords allows that. if he wants to protect his assists from stuff like chaotic flame, shockwave, etc. spiral swords allows that and usually gives him a punish. if he wants to charge up a round trip and throw it for free, spiral swords allows that. this is the most powerful move in the game in terms of momentum stopping/shifting and shutting down options.
the only thing even close is morrigan’s astral vision, which has 19 frames of recovery (that’s why you see chrisG xfactoring after AV sometimes) and comes with a bunch of “low” rated durability stuff instead of spiral swords’ “high” rated durability projectiles.
Uploading another video right now, it can also be done with characters with a regular anti air command grab like Hulk, Spencer, and Haggar with a work around though it’s less strong since they don’t have so many active frames as the super. The best setup for sure is the Magneto one which requires absolutely no timing changes and doesn’t allow your opponent do anything after the first super flash.
Nope. If only Strange had a reliable self-OTG not named SoV.
