if ppl dont wanna buy into frank being high mid its fine, but i cant see how jeans much better anymore considering how many liabilities she brings to a team, how much (underutilized) anti tech she has and how steep her requirements are before they pay off.

I’ve been wondering, because it seems like the game’s support shells are being defined as more and more tech comes out and what top players run. I’m not necessarily talking about optimal pairings like Zero/Dante or Viper/Strider, but shells like Doom/Dante, Strange/Dante, and Doom/Ammy-- the shells that bring a ton of support to your team, the shells that “make every team better”, so to speak. We have defined support shells like Doom/Ammy, and I’ve been wondering what you guys think are the shells people are gonna run with (insert point character here).
The following are the best individual support characters (imo and in no particular order):
- Doom
- Dante
- Vergil
- Strider
- Ammy
- Morrigan
- Strange
- Magneto
Considering assists, DHCs, TACs, THCs, and X-Factor strength.
We have teams like Zero/Dante/Strider, Viper/Doom/Ammy, Viper/Doom/Strider, and Magneto/**Morrigan/Doom. **I hope I’m not the only one seeing the trends here. So again, what support shells do you think will become used more as the game progresses? Which ones do you think provide the most support as a standalone shell? I really like the x/Strange/Dante shell for Viper, Magneto, and Zero for instance, but again there are many different permutations from the top support characters to choose from, and how strong the team as a whole also depends on the point character.
In addition to the ones you have listed, I’d also mention these:
Sentinel/Dante (Hard Drive out of mixup -> DT, Sent loves Jam Session)
Dante/Magneto (All-purpose X- and Y-axis coverage, plus they’re BFFs)
Vergil/Dante or Dante/Vergil (depending on team needs)
Dormammu/Doom or Dante (a.k.a. the Spell-Machine)
Vergil/Strider (for zoners like Deadpool/Hawkeye/Chris)
Also, something with Akuma that I can’t think of right now…
