Gotta say, this new playoff format has worked out pretty well. One of these two teams will be playing back-to-back elimination games in two different cities. lolz.

Well the Pirates just swept the Reds and looks like they should continue that for the Wild Card to face St Louis.
But a one game wild card is fucking crazy for baseball.
I hate this new format. I guess I can’t complain this year though since the Rangers are taking advantage of this new format.
Rays are starting out strong, too be expected though, Perez isn’t the most clutch of pitchers

The AL wild card race was a direct result of the new format. It seems wonky at first with the one game play in, but it puts more emphasis on the last month+ of regular season games. Overall it’s more pros than cons, IMO.
