That’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever read. I’m not even talking about the linemen being faster than WRs, because I don’t buy that either. But seriously, claiming Barry was never that fast and then saying he never faced freak of nature defenses they have today is laughable. The athlete is ever evolving within sports, it’s not even humanly possible to make the comparison between when Barry played and RBs now.
You can barely even compare RBs within the top 10 all time rushing list to Barry and defenses they’ve played against. Even then, how can you say who was better/faster? Within the top 10, those whose careers have overlapped his (that I’m aware of) that possibly played the same defenses were Emmitt, Curtis Martin, LT, Faulk and Bettis. How can you make the comparison? How do you actually know Barry was never that fast compared to any of them? By highlight film?
Real talk Emmitt and maybe LT are the only ones comparable IMO, and let’s not forget, Barry retired EARLY without playing a washed up career like those other RBs I named.
By all means sure, but as a Lions fan I don’t really remember that many. I mean, I’m just saying – if a dude with an admittedly BAD O-LINE has never gotten less than 1352 yards in a 15 or 16 game season, then obviously he’s outrunning somebody right? C’mon son, you reachin’ now.
C’mon son. I’m 3 minutes into the video and debating whether or not I should continue to watch it or not. You’re telling me he got ran down because he was often down field running in the vicinity of a few defenders who one blocker can’t hold off or he’s trying juke moves to get around a guy or two and someone catches him? If you have to stop to shake someone, obviously someone’s going to run you down.

Season looks much better for them now. Now the biggest concern is for the team to get to the playoffs. I think the Ravens will, but they’re gonna have tough competition with the Steelers and that seemingly murderous out of division schedule. Having stretches of at Eagles, vs Patriots on SNF, and Steelers Chargers Steelers isn’t going to help, either.
You know… there’s a difference between running someone down and having the angle.

Ray Rice and Forte getting about 8 mill a year, both are solid contracts. A far cry from when Shaun Alexander was getting like 15 million a season. Wes Welker got one more year in NE before they tell him to hit the bricks. Welker should have seen this coming, NE does not pay anyone but Brady.

Jerry Jones just does not care about character. He thinks talent will always trump that no matter what. It is still somewhat stupefying that all the experts are picking Dallas to win their division and for Giants to get 3rd. Every year they suck off Dallas and pretend they are SB Contenders.
Dallas will not be a SB contender until Jerry Jones hires a damn GM and lets that GM do his job. So basically after his old ass dies.
