If you’re a fan of a team with no real QB prospect (Washington, Minnesota, Carolina, etc), how do you even trick yourself into thinking your team is going to have a good season? Or do you accept the fact you’re going to lose a ton of games and just try to focus on the little positives (a Pro Bowl lineman, a big upset, etc)?
A lot of fans are silly and look at all the positives without weighing in the bad. My fellow skin friends think we are going to the playoffs. I myself though, I just look at the team in hopes to see some good future production. Seeing young guys do well in hopes of someday being contenders for once.
I was hoping to cuff charles
Oh we shall see. The draft has happened enough talk who cares. I am going to win running away even if i drafted Tim Teebow first round.
You’re still set to start playoffs in week 14…They should start in week 13; there should be 12 regular season matchups.
Oh, I get it. I was confused by the wording. That’s fine, I’ll go change the settings now.
I wouldn’t MJD but hey, it’s your team.
My team is pretty strong considering my internet was out…coincidentally right before the draft >:(
I call sabotage. My depth is poopoo though
I don’t think the Vikings will do much, but I think they will fight for a playoff spot (but miss out in the end). While this team isn’t the same team that nearly made the Super Bowl, they are definitely not the team of last year. Everything went bad last year (Favre sucked, and then the Childress and Metrodome situation), and the team still went 6-10. Looking at the Vikings schedule, I see them going 8-8. McNabb got a bad deal last year, and while this O-Line isn’t good, it is a step above what Washington had last year, and the receivers are better.

I’ve never played fantasy with indiviual defensive players. How does that work?
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
Also, it’s kinda hard without seeing a) the entire draft or b) what other people ended up with in that league.
I didn’t want to clutter the thread with the entire draft but if I can do the spoiler tag I will edit this post, lemme get the complete draft right quick
Can someone just post how I do the spolier tag

Kim playing fantasy football?
HAHAHHAHA oh lord…
The same way it does with offensive players. Points are given for sacks, tackles, interceptions, forced fumbles etc. You basically take what you would be given for your D and individual players get credit for that. I think IDP is pretty terrible. I’ve played it a few times. What usually happens is the bench is humongous since there are tons of positions, but nobody ever uses the bench for IDP’s. They fill it with offensive players so the free agent pool is absolutely drained unless you set a maximum number of each position for each team which is also bad for the game IMO.
I’m playing in another league where you play defensive players. I know some people’s teams are stacked with them, but my offensive players should wrap up every game without defense having much of a factor. Check this team out:
Tony Romo, Dal QB
Jamaal Charles, KC RB
Peyton Hillis, Cle RB
LeGarrette Blount, TB RB
Mike Williams, TB WR
Steve Johnson, Buf WR
Austin Collie, Ind WR
Dustin Keller, NYJ TE
Falcons D/ST D/ST
Stephen Gostkowski, NE K
Bench:
Fred Jackson, Buf RB
Malcom Floyd, SD WR
Eli Manning, NYG QB
Hines Ward, Pit WR
Nick Folk, NYJ K
Matt Hasselbeck, Ten QB
Todd Heap, Ari TE
Bench is somewhat iffy, but that’s because I put it on autodraft after picking a few defensive players. This league will be free IMO.
Gods, that draft must take forever.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
A little bit off-topic but I’ve always thought that if your defense gets a safety, they should get at least 4 points. It’s too rare to have the same value as a normal sack.
Basketball is dead to me.
ckrazy is basically sayin’ you’re free…
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
Rb’s in the first three and then Romo in 4 or 5? I had to draft Romo in round 3 for my league. By 2nd round everyone I consider elite was gone and Romo was the lowest I was willing to take, plus I expect him to have a monster year. I’m feeling Floyd over Collie based on Peyton’s health.
The squad I ended up with in my money league:
QB - Tony Romo (RD3 - much earlier then I wanted to spend for him, but I panicked and I like him a lot this year)
WR1 - Calvin Johnson (RD2 - I’m a Stan for Megatron. Draft him every year he’s available in the second round)
WR2 - Mario Manningham (RD7 - value pick imo. I expect the Giants to be forced to throw a lot to compete with their depleted secondary)
RB1 - Adrian Peterson (RD1 - Fell to me at pick 3! I was prepared to go with Rice until the first pick was Jamal Charles))
RB2 - LaGerrette Blount (RD5 - could not pass up that late)
TE - Antonio Gates (RD4 - A full season of Gates > most wide receivers so I reached a bit)
W/R - Knowshon Moreno (RD6 - got sidetracked and realized it was my turn with 15 seconds to go… sooo…))
K - Alex Henery (N/A-I didn’t draft a kicker. I had Rashad Jennings in RD12 and dropped him a few days ago after the injury)
Def - Atlanta (RD15)
Bench
Jeremy Maclin (RD8 - WR were scarce)
Percy Harvin (RD9 - Realized he was somehow still on the board and who is McNabb going to throw to? Bernard Berrian?)
Steve Smith (Car) (RD10 - My motto used to be that talent overcomes adversity, but Larry Fitzgerald shot that to hell. This like most of my later picks is a wait and see)
LaDanian Tomlinson (RD11 - Still on a crazy rushing offense)
Roy Helu (RD13 - Lottery pick really. I like the kid. I know he doesn’t even have the #2 locked)
Jerome Harrison (RD14 - Was looking like a great late pick until the Lions picked up Keiland Williams)
Nope I’m free. =(
I banned myself (yet I’m still periodically posting).
Fantasy football just irks me. Why is the RB the most important mother fucker? At least with fantasy basketball the best players in real life, are the best fantasy players.
I always get mind fuck in fantasy football.
Happy as fuck football is starting though.
Pro Tip : Don’t trade with Kim. Matter of fact don’t read any of his PM, E-mails or anything. You see the name “Kim” just delete!
I took Romo I believe in Round 5. I took 3 RBs off the bat and then everyone pretty much started scrambling to find a decent RB late. In Round 5 it was too late to pass him up. I’m not too sure on Romo this year for some reason. I guess it shouldn’t matter that Roy Williams left or not.
I think your team looks pretty solid. Mad people sleeping on Blount. I’m not sure why so many experts have him projected so low though. He should be going in the second round IMO on average, but in the drafts I’ve seen he’s been going on average in the 4th-5th rounds. Harvin’s a great pickup in the late round as well.
Is there a reason we shouldn’t trade with Kim?
