Can someone help me with this error? I get it every time I try to access any online component of SF4:
As the previous championship match did not conclude properly, you must begin again from the first battle.
And then it wipes out how ever many “Grade Points” I earned from the last session. Last night I went from 1300 GP to 2000 GP and even played a G2 match … then I went to the main menu and when I tried to do online battles it gave me this message and set my GP back to 1300.
Next session I made absolutely CERTAIN that all matches concluded and that the tournament was completely over before logging off - and I STILL GET THIS MESSAGE AND IT STILL WIPES OUT ANY POINTS I EARN ABOVE 1300.
Today I got some points - and at the conclusion of every tournament I turn off the ps3, and then re-log into psn and enter ‘Network’ and check to see if my points are still there. I did this 3 times and it seemed to stick - but several hours later I log in and it gives me the above message and wipes out my points.
Can someone please tell me what I need to do to make this stop happening. I realize posting this on the psn board is a stretch but when I try to post this on the SF4 board it says I need 50 (!) posts.
I just want to play this game and not go up against scrubs 100% of the time - but Capcom seems dead set on not letting me get above 1300 points under any circumstances whatsoever. I win 95%+ of my matches and can win several tournaments in a row but THIS IS STILL LEADING TO LOTS OF WASTED TIME AT VERY LOW LEVELS.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated and if there is a better place to post this question than PLEASE let me know.
Uh, I’m really not sure of the reasoning behind this, but it could have something to do with how you turn off your system. Are you quitting the game and turning off the system properly? Or do you just reach to the back of your PS3 and turn the power switch off with the game still running?
I have no idea whether what I said makes a difference, but I have heard of some similar stories in which the cause seemed to be how they turned off their system… Just a guess though.
I don’t remember how I turned the system off when I lost the first huge batch of points. But every time after that I have been very carefully following these steps:
Make sure the tournament has concluded
If I am in the ‘Network’ page, press circle to get out of ‘Network’ mode - or if in arcade mode, select ‘Go Back To Main Menu’ after the last fight of the tournament
Exit game from main menu
Turn off the ps3 while in the ‘no game is loaded/xmb’ mode
I did that the last several times and I still got the “match did not conclude” message the next time I booted up the ps3.
The most frustrating part is following all these steps - logging back into sf4 online to see my points still there and not getting the message - then come back to the game hours later and THEN getting the message and having it wipe out an arbitrary number of points. In that case I just have to ask: “What MATCH!? My last log in was for nothing but to CHECK to see how many points I have and then carefully log off!”
Same thing happens to me. This has happened to me so much that after I collect over 100 gp what i do now is i will quit the game properly and log out of my account by logging into another one to make sure im off the playstation network, then i log back in to the account and go into the game and check the rankings to see if it has updated. Once i see that it has I’ll continue playing. It’s a pain in the ass but checking the rankings is the only way I can make sure my points are saved.
What I have been doing since mine got erased is after a championship match I check out the #1 rated replays and watch them just to make sure that the server communicates with my PS3 and logs everything. I have yet to get the error since I’ve done that.
ive had this happen to me too. but i think there is something wrong with this. you should have not lost all 700gp you gained. once you earn your gp in 1 tournament those gp are saved.
now there is no way that you gained 700 gp in one G3 tourney. average is about 50 per final if i’m not mistaken.
This has happened to me about 3 times. The only difference is that I don’t lose GP. Instead I have to restart the tournament and I lose all the CP I’ve earned from the previous tournament.
I’m running into a strange issue in championship mode today that’s never happened to me before. X360 version. Every single time I enter the online menu I get the “previous championship match did not conclude properly” error. After the championship concludes, the points are added to my total and the game saves like normal. Once it takes me back to the online menu, it hits me with the “previous championship match did not conclude properly” again and my point total is reset to the previous amount. Strangely, the leaderboard shows me with the correct amount, ie ~100 points higher after winning a championship, but as soon as I start a new championship the leaderboard number gets reset as well (ie it only shows previous amount + most recent championship winnings). I’ve tried reconnecting to live and rebooting the xbox and nothing seems to help. I always exit the game properly through the dashboard and have never disconnected while playing. Anyone know what’s going on?
EDIT: sorry, just realized this was the psn forum. I did a search and saw the a thread similar to the problem I was having without realizing that…
