2 PCB's in one stick - Possible?

hey toodles, do I have to do anything specific to the hacked xbox pcb like add resistors like others have said? I don’t understand why anyone would. thanks for answering.

yes.

Only if you remove potentiometers.

does anyone know how to set the triggers of this pad to neutral? and does it matter if i set the buttons to neutral if i’m not wiring them up for use?

bump. can anyone point me in the right direction?

when the triggers are still assembled they are already set to neutral so if you take apart the assembly without spinning the dial you should still be in neutral. just hot glue the dial so it doesn’t spin and you should be ok.

plug the pcb into your computer and check the joystick properties in the control panel before you take apart the assembly so you know how the properties look when the triggers are in neutral or pressed. if you take apart the trigger assembly and accidently move the dial, adjust it back while plugged into your computer until it is back to the neutral state. sorry but i have no pics to illustrate this.

ok so assuming the neutral state is 50/50 based on the readings i got when plugged the controller in my cpu, does this even matter if i don’t use the triggers?

Compare that 50/50 against a controller you haven’t taken apart.

Any of you guys put a xbox360pad in a ps2 Hrap and it worked?

Well, I put a Cthulhu PCB along with a 360 pad in my HRAP2, does that count?

i couldnt get windows to recognize my 360 nor my sixaxis in terms of allowing me to recalibrate it. however, the high end of the spectrum for the measurements of calibration were around 65,000 to 64,000 to 0. so my z axis readings (triggers) averaged right in between 32,700.

could that be considered neutral?

anyone who’s used a gamestop madcatz controller, if you have any idea about what numerical # is for setting the triggers to neutral, please help me out.

and lastly, does it matter if i don’t use the triggers anyways? i’ve got the six buttons i need with the left and right bumpers.

Yeah, it’s fine to just not wire them. Like you said LB and RB will give you six buttons.

thanks fsckyle and everyone who helped me out.

If I wanted to add in the Cthulhu board on top of the 360 and PS2 pcbs would I need to connect the 5v on the board to the 5v and 3.3v on the other pads?

It’s best if you do.

Great, thanks

Does it play x360 and ps2 games? if so could you show hows it done? :wonder:

I was wondering the same thing but with a HRAP3 and 360 pcb…

i’ve done both so it’s possible. sorry but i have no tutorial or don’t know of any tutorial that exists to do this mod and i can’t just go back and reverse-mod (is that a word?) these sticks because they are already back with their owners.

basically like any dual console mod you find a way to connect each corresponding input (button/stick) point to eachother and connect the ground and power to each pcb. the only time you use a switch is with ps3/360 if you want to share 1 usb cable for both systems.

hey akuma001, what did you use to drill a hole for that switch? and how big of a drill bit did you use for the small screws?

So, what your saying is if i was going to leave both USB cables all I would need to do is connect the power and ground from one PCB to the other. Then wire the buttons as normal. Is that correct?
