To my fellow Street Fighters,
Ever since SF4 came out for console, the arcade scene has died down dramatically; personally, I find it ironic that people generally prefer playing online instead of coming to the arcade (namely CTF) to level up. Nothing against online playing, but the dependency upon great inernet connection from opponents has made the game very frustrating at times. To be honest, while playing online is a good way to try new things, it will not give you that extra edge when facing your opponent live in a tournament. When you are defeated online, you lose Championship points. BIG DEAL right? There are no stakes, no money on the table, not even the face of your opponent. What ends up happening is you get players that constantly spam one to two moves over and over again - and they still win. For example, when my buddy Playgroundlegend and I were first getting to G1, we kept playing this guy DeathNote… something, as I’m sure many of you have played him. We have videos of him trying to beat me by spamming Tatsu every single round - it was quite ridiculous; needless to say, we beat him pretty easily, and yet, he was constantly top 10 on XBox live!? You see, no one would be that silly in a live match to spam Tatsu - that kind of startegy only works online; against good players he would have been punished every time. I heard he got his “behind” handed to him at EVO and I haven’t seen him online much since.
Personally, I haven’t played in my own PS3 account since May 2009 just because I wasn’t getting any better playing randoms online - sure, you could learn matchups but not much else. Many of you know me personally and know that I ONLY play in Chinatown Fair - the competition there is generally fierce especially on a Friday night. So…
Without further introduction to the reason why I’m starting the 2v2 - let’s get this show on!

This is a great way to test your skills against some of the best players in NYC
Let me know who’s down so I can make a pre-registration list - please provide your name/handle with what characters you and your teammate are using, so that after the braket is set, we can try to keep you on so that you’d save a buck or two.
