Kuroda isn’t really highly regarded outside of the top players, you know. He’s like me on here. The circle jerk kinda keeps him out while the best of the best think to say much about him. Except I don’t know too many players that highly regard me. Players like MOV and such like him, the others probably talk down on him. At least this is how it used to be not too long far back. You may have heard people say he smells, well they weren’t saying it to be funny. That’s his berth or some such other thing because he’s “weird”.
edit: and since some of the autists on here lack critical thinking/reading comprehension abilities, ryan, I’ll state that the comparison wasn’t on the grounds that I’m anywhere near as skilled s Kuroda. It’s just a comparison of placement among the community members.
From what I’ve heard, Kuroda and Mayon(Chun player) are banned from Game Newton-run tournaments(basically any tournament run by Matsuda-san) because of some sort of corroboration. I don’t know the details, and maybe Kuroda’s ban got lifted while Mayon’s is permanent, but if he doesn’t show up to Coop Cup then that could be one reason.

A lot has changed for Kuroda then because that was the running word on him in Japan, at least as heard through the grapevine here in America that leads to Japan. It’s not like I claimed he contacted me via chat to explain this to me. He always was considered one of the best amongst the better players but all over you’d hear about how Daigo and Tokido were the greatest in the game. At least before the community consisted of more than you and your own circle jerk.

I don’t play 3s for brownie points, I play it for what it can offer. If someone wants options, I know them and understand them. It’s a very versatile game, and letting it stagnate to a simple scheme of grounded frame traps and linear pragmatism isn’t on my to do list. I strive to play on a reactionary level, like Kuroda and MOV. Might take a long time, maybe even never happen due to an ear injury, but it’s not like I’m letting that keep me from enjoying the game.

What I’m saying is that as good as Chun move set and walk speed are, and weighed against the diverse move sets of the other characters barring twelve and Elena, it’s funny that lower level Chun’s opt for simply using cr. jab/cr.short -> low forward. It wins, yes. But it’s really lacking in the creativity that creates great players like a lot of the Japanese players. MOV doesn’t spam it and he wins more than anyone and gets more respect than most any other player out there. Rikimaru doesn’t even use it much. Using the weight Nuki, MOV, and even Rikimaru have created for a character like Chun to get a win by using shit like whiff jab back fierce and cr.short/cr.jab low forward is a little lame. I’d ask for specific input but you’re just going to come back with some stupid quib about how I said something I never really said and then baste yourself in the praise of your circle jerk.
I know this community isn’t very big but haven’t you noticed how it’s only JAK, you, Ryan and Deemo that ever take a hostile side in repeat discussions?
Besides, in that situation I’d say “Chun holds a strong advantage over the other character after a cr.short/jab like that. Many times the advantage is so strong, most players will sit there, block and wait for a parry opportunity to arise. That’s when Chun can start up her grab game.”
I wouldn’t say frames because anyone that deals in frame data can just read it off the chart. Anyone that doesn’t, will just wonder about it. Also, maybe because I don’t actively read much frame data anymore. There are no tournaments over here.
