Rsigley - that guy came to our arcade one day to play cvs2 and he literally just defended everything. Later that year, my crew went to ECC and we saw him just defend sakura’s custom combo (sho sho sho) it was ridiculous.
I didn’t know he almost got someone arrested for real…that’s probably going too far, but hey you can all laugh about it now, right?
APEX points is some OG shit. They were also impossible to enforce. I saw some of you fuckers throwing private tournaments with just you and your friends in garages in order to farm points.
Sigley was a weird dude in person but he seemed okay. He was always at Break tournaments and just seemed really shy.
I started actively using the so called “internet” around 1998 (and I was 19 by then), I’ve been on some forums since then and I don’t remember any other forum where the “join date” is so important, so talked about, so reverenced like here.
I think that says a lot about some of the people around here
I used to talk to sigley, I would never consider him normal, and none of his “friends” did either. They would always just say “that’s sigley.” I don’t know what he’s doing now or if he’s still friends with those people, nor do I care. I will say he is at least a step up from the current loser trolls we have running around. sigley is probably even closer than sirlin to that “mad genius” descriptor people like to label with.
HAHA, its like a thread of the old vets sitting around a table at the mall with coffee and newspapers. Love you bastards and am very surprised to recognize a bunch of you still.
Outside of a very rare online game, I don’t think I’ve played regularly for a good 10 years now. And probably the last in-person game I played was maybe 7 or so years ago.
Fighting games are a good time waster when you’re younger, but even then they are really a bad idea. I mean they’re just games, it’s a complete waste of time to develop the skill level needed to really have fun with them, and then you have to find other people with that skill level but most of them are not well adjusted people. About the last time in your life that you can do that is in college or maybe soon after. But then the vast majority of people move on, even if they wasted a ton of time before.
I enjoyed playing them in college but that’s a long time ago. I don’t regret it or anything. I just am conscious of how pointless it was.
If I played anything now it would probably be something like Smash or Soul Calibur since they are easier to control at least and are more popular. The execution requirements are generally a lot lower afaik, even the “pro” players say it’s not really that execution heavy. Maybe if 2D fighter devs would figure that out instead of making these ridiculous mechanics that require hours of practice and specialized knowledge they’d have bigger gamer populations. You should never have to study video just to be able to play a game competently, that’s just stupid. Yes video should be useful at the very highest levels, but not for simple casual gameplay.
I got back into it for Ultimate Marvel, but once I moved back to New York I stopped giving a shit. I can’t play a video game longer than 10 minutes these days.
If you remember that kharma from way back in the day before rep lol. There were two jae hoon’s at one time to when I used to post in the CvS2 section religiously. I think I ended up banning the other one when I was a Mod, then he got banned like 2 more times.
Sep got himself banned essentially after I won SRK Top Hater some years ago against him when I went on a trolling spree due to boredom. Sep literally tried to rig the poll, still lost, then threw a fit trying to infract people and going off until he was removed for abusing his powers as a mod.
You mean Sep & Ronin went back and forth trolling the Xbox/PlayStation threads until things got so heated over FINAL FANTASY 13 that Sep got de-modded & left SRK.
Best part is Ronin was doing the same thing Sep was, but nothing happened to him. :shake:
