You have a right not to get shot, as a blanket rule. You don’t have to specify the times when someone has that right. You have to specify times when they don’t have that right, and those are very limited circumstances.
Free speech has nothing to do with those cartoonists getting shot. Free speech is freedom from government interference with your speech.
And that is precisely what the NSA and Prism are threatening, yet the people don’t have a problem with that. If you truly believe in free speech, then surveillance should be in your mind the greatest violation of that right and your greatest priority to protest against.
Instead, people are busy making excuses for why the government should be able to knock on your door at night and pull you out of the house if you googled “pressure cooker” and “Boston bombers” in the same day (actually happened).

When people say freedom ain’t free. This is exactly what it references to. It’s not about sending men overseas to die in some desert, or giving up some freedom to have some freedom. It’s about putting yourself in a very uncomfortable situation and dealing with it in a responsible way.

The thing is… Way before these events even happened… There has been a wave in all of europe where extreme right wing
parties gain alot of support from the people. These parties are against muslim immigration/immigrants and just about any other immigrants too.
Even in Sweden (where i am from) there is a party called “Sverigedemokraterna” (swedendemocrats , rough translation) which are more or less openly xenophobic.
They got , in a recent election , 13% of the votes , making their way into the parlament. If you wanna know how extreme they are , they have stated that they do not
consider native swedish people as “true swedes” , so you can imagine what they think about that arab guy living downtown.

But hasn’t that wave of anti immigration existed in Europe since the 50’s and 60’s with the start of all the migration? I know England was the one most open to American school of thoughts when it came to “dealing” with foreigners.
Personally, I believe that the paranoia of foreigners happens in any country when there is a large swab of immigrants coming in and it isn’t regulated or they have real issues attached to them or made up ones. It just so happens that this may be Europe’s turn to really address the “race” issue it pretends it doesn’t have. Which it does because look at your politikz and how hard the media over there is trying to “ease” “race tensions”. Maybe your specific country can deal with it better, maybe it won’t. Only time will tell.

That is not what’s happening here. While the two gunmen are surely sociopaths, and being a sociopath allows one to murder without caring, that does not mean murder is a given sociopath’s goal. The murder can also be a means to an end, which is the case here. They care more about silencing the art than they care about killing the artist.

First one is “real” but it hasn’t happened yet , and honestly i’m not sure it will either.
Second one is true aswell. The person in question got fined for like 3200€ for saying this on facebook :
“When will you journalists realize that it is a big part of the islamic religion to rape and abuse
women who does not follow the teaching of islam. There is a big connection between
rapes commited in sweden and the immigrants from these islamic countries”.
