not really. this guy killed innocent people. letting the victims go to town on him is different, because he’s a guilty person, not an innocent person. killing guilty people = good. killing innocent people = bad. therefore, people who kill guilty people are better than people who kill innocent people. so its not sinking to their level at all.
and of course, it shouldn’t be an angry mob that inflicts vengeance. it should only be the victims themselves, because they were the ones who were wronged. hence vengeance. they are the ones who suffered, they should have the right. if they want to grant him mercy great.

Uh, I don’t think white people watch those movies to begin with. Hell, he probably would have gotten tackled as soon as he started to leave to start his assault since the other (black) audience members would have been offended that he was walking out on Madea’s “glory”.

Er…who says no one was somehow who had a license to carry concealed firearms? Obviously, yeah, no one “did something” (read: fired back), but even if they were all concealed firearm owners, that doesn’t mean they would have all had their guns on them. Similarly, it doesn’t mean that they would have been able to make much of a difference given all the armor that the suspect supposedly had on or, even, that they wouldn’t have made it worse and (fatally) shot someone else given the utter panic that people get into. Having a gun doesn’t mean you’re able to do shoot it accurately, especially when you’re scared.
Suggestions like this is why I roll my eyes when people about talk having a gun on you while outside for “protection”. Having one at home is understandable (even if still no guarantee of safety), but way too many act like being a gun owner and expressing their “gun rights” somehow magickally exempts them from getting shot in the face first before they can even draw their gun, much less fire it back. That applies even more in the face of something as “random” as this.

Yes, but during those times all sorts of crimes had unjust penalties. I’m talking about certain criminals such as mass murderers, they deserve the pain they gave. In my ideal imaginary world, If the family members do not want to get their hands dirty then they are free to let the government handle it. You imagine yourself as one of those family members, imagine how it is like hearing your loved one get killed by some on else. Cheated partners/spouses already gain such a resentment towards the person who cheated on them that it sometimes leads to various reactions or depression. That feeling is no where near the feeling of losing a loved one through murder.
Mentally Ill is a poor excuse now. Mentally ill should be classified in the range of a depressed man to a man who jacks off in a pile of his feces, not killing a number of innocent people just for entertainment. That crosses the line of “mentally ill” into an actual monster. Monsters must be put down.
Look lets make an example, lets say the US managed to capture Osama and the random terrorist leaders, do you think a bullet to the head would justify the amount lives they destroyed during 9/11? What about the families who saw leaked videos of their loved ones yelling in pain due to being decapitated from a bunch a terrorists? I’m not down with Ancient civilization executions, but i am down with allowing the family members to take part in their justice by beating down the murderer.

Using this as a way to talk about gun control law is 1) disrespectful and 2) a gross misunderstanding of why this doesn’t apply to gun control laws.
The death penalty is not really there to punish people so much as to fuck over hundreds of others who are at the wrong end of it (and yes, we DO have evidence of this).
Man, people who said they would have shot back, or said that if more people were armed then this would have ended sooner are crazy. That might help in some hypothetical home intruder situation, but the dude had body armor, tear gas and multiple clips. Your average handgun owner might as well be holding a slingshot. Dude was prepared to murder, and all shooting back would have done would have probably gotten your ass killed real quick.
