I hope (at least) some of this got archived or recorded! Sounds amazing.
Jeez. Those truly are god teams lol. Anyway about coop cup i was pleasantly surprised by AFMs great play.
Indeed, watching AFM was a joy during the Coop Cup. Also, the archived footage that Darklightjg1 posted seems to start at the fifth bout during the block phase. I’ll focus on processing stuff from before that for now and see where that archived footage ends. Maybe I won’t have to do so much work after all.
This was way to epic. 225 contenders. Man people dont understand 3rd Strike isnt just a game. Its a way of life!
You can just upload them for now until they make an announcement that they’re going to release a DVD(which I kinda doubt, since I don’t think Arcadia had anything to do with this event).
Shend uploaded it.
All the 3 parts for the Top 16 are up, there’s time-lines at bottom of the descriptions if you want to skip straight to the matches. Although I may actually add in those freaky short-cut buttons in the video itself and add some annotations so who’s playing is clearer.
I’ll look into stuff that was linked here earlier: http://www.twitch.tv/3s4life/videos
I’m kinda glad that the “holy chun trio” didn’t steal the show, after dominating the same character tournament.
But other, often underrated chuns, gave a great performance. MachoBanana and Takayuki were mad solid, as well as AFM.
PS: am I wrong or did Gesuyarou come out like from nothing? Never heard of him among the big names before, yet he deserved a spot in the buffest team and showed to be quite solid. 3s is SO good.
Awesome tournament. The Cooperation Cup never fails to deliver, and I hope it goes on for many years to come.
Might be wrong here but what I heard from yuuki who met him is he isn’t as fond of tournament play as most other big name Japanese players and usually prefers gachi or danisen.
IIRC, i discovered him (Gesuyarou) in the Ken only tournament where he was just as impressive as Nuki, Boss, Roku, etc…
That tourney is pure madness, i can’t recommend it enough…
I’ve seen some Gachi vids of Gesuyarou, as well as the Ken-only tourn. He’s a very solid player; you just don’t get to see much of him because he lives in Sendai.
Alright. Based on the beginnings and ends of the videos, it’s the entire tournament minus the first four bouts and the beginning part of the fifth that was shown on the stream. I’ll process up the parts that aren’t included and get those online.
I have no idea if this archived set of stream is perfect the entire way through. It most likely is, but just in case I’ll hang onto my raw recordings for a month or two to give people time to watch through this archive and discover any possible flaws.
EDIT: Oh, meant to add I’m talking with Shend about getting my cap of the parts that aren’t in that archive to him, so everyone can just one-stop shop for their 10th Coop Cup fix.
good shit to the person that recorded this, they were even generous enough to put the names of the players that are playing too (unless that was done by the staff, i wouldnt know since i didnt get to watch the block play before top 16)
I’m so glad I went to Japan. I have a few matches recorded if you guys want me to upload them. I even got a few pictures of myself and the winning team. I offered to buy them drinks but they all laughed at me and went home to fuck their hot wives.
Pix bro! Pix!
AFM was awarded the MVP of the 10th Coop Cup. My choice is Deshiken, we can call him Mr. Coop Cup now for winning this 3 times.
