Honest question:
How many people are you expecting per game? How long do you think the event will run?
I’m asking because I’m interested in making it out for this, but as you know I live in Connecticut, so I have two reasons:

I’m making a super long drive and if I do make that drive I want the tournament to be worth it. An 8 man event where I barely make back my entry fee for top 3 won’t cut it.

Since it’s a long ass drive, I’d have to take off Friday from work to probably drive out there and then drive home Sunday. So I’d need to plan ahead, find a place to stay, maybe get some casuals in with the locals on Friday night.
SOOOOOO if you could give me an idea of how this will go down it would help out a lot. I want to visit my brothers further south and I never get the chance to come out there. So let’s get some shit going!
P.S. In my experience all emulators lag…dunno how emulated ST will work, probably better off playing the DC or PS1 versions.
Honestly… If your looking at this financially, it’s not a good move to drive all the way down to VA. Especially if you’re gonna miss work to do it… I’d never left C3 with less money than I came with until the last one though, but that’s poker earnings.
I’ll let Robin speak on numbers for tournaments, but one thing you should know is that we bet that shit the fuck down around here, so you should definitely be able to get some MMs in.

as far as #'s go… The “normal” c3 has about 20 for 3S, 15 for GGXX/, 8-16 for cvs2, 12 for ST and either a bunch or nothing for Marvel.
However, I’m sure it’ll be easier to get more people out if decent comp such as yourself come down. Chris Li hasn’t come out for any AE tourneys, for instance. David Wright and Mike played last month though.
As for xbox, we’ll see, Dave offered the setup. If not, we can go to DC.
i’m willin to bring my modded box and converter. I know eric has a working converter as well, so st/hyper fighting/xvsf solved right there.

Ok here is the deal.
It is exactly a 5 hour drive for me to make it out there. So if I’m going to do it I’m going to take the Friday before off work and make a weekend of it.
I’d probably drive down during the day Friday and get there sometime in the afternoon-early evening. I’d like to get some casuals with you guys in any Capcom fighters (I’ve actually gotten pretty decent in 3s/CvS2 over the past month and as you know I"m already good in ST and MvC2). I’m also down for some money matches, hype, or whatever you guys have up your sleeves. I have never been to VA for games and I am looking forward to playing with a different crowd. I also want revenge on Exodus and Shinshay for the many times they’ve beaten my ass in 3s…you WILL be surprised.
The only catch is I’ll obviously need somewhere to stay Friday and Saturday nights. There might be a possibility I can get some other players to come with me from this area IF we are guaranteed to have someplace to stay. I’m also definitely down to play the poker game Sat night so after that I’ll want to crash somewhere and make the drive back that Sunday.
If anybody has any ideas on housing and such please let me know ASAP so I can start to plan for this. Thanks!

i live 10 min away from the tourny, but… i play GG and i work saturday until 3pm (though i doubt that is a problem because i can ask that day off). still, i doubt that you would want to play casuals with me in CvS and marvel since i dont play those high level…
I’m in the same situation. The drive for me is about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, and I think it would be cool to make a weekend out of it too. Last time I had people wantin me to stay but I didn’t wanna drive home at like 3-4 AM.
If people are throwin like an afterparty maybe (if so I’ll donate a bottle of GreyGoose and a couple packs of RedBull), I would be fine crashing on the cold floor of whomevers establishment, if him her didn’t mind. I don’t take up much space and I don’t smell or snore, lol.
Otherwise I guess I could tailgait out the Audi in some random parking lot lol. Setup some 3s outside, that would be awesome!
I will be gettin there early, like 3-4 in the afternoon early. I like to get a good hour or two gettin my execution up to par. So if any peeps are arriving early you won’t be alone.
