This next tournament will run again on Friday. Please be on time. We will do the same start time as the last 3 weeks. 10PM EST, 9PM CST, 8PM MT, 7PM PT, 3AM GMT.

The rules are the same as last week, however I am going to ban Vega at this time. If you are a dedicated Vega player, then I’m sorry. You just can’t use him in this particular tournament.

The main change is this. We will all be in a chat room on IRC, so that every one knows what is going on, and if you have other things to do, you will at least know when you can play casual matches in the meantime, and how long it will take until you are going to be called if you are in a bracket with several byes.

Download and install mIRC here or use your favorite IRC program.

The server you want to use is any Efnet server. Once you have come up with a username, choose an Efnet server and join the channel #hdremix . To join a channel, simply type /join #hdremix.

So if you are unfamiliar with using IRC you have about a week to get it installed on your computer and figure out how to use it. Please make sure you know what you are doing before the tournament. If you have question you may ask them here, and we can help you.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER WHILE PLAYING, then I’m sorry, this tournament isn’t for you. We need to have consistant communication because even a big tournament should take a short period of time.

Also, as long as SRK doesn’t KEEP GOING DOWN DURING THE TOURNAMENT, then I will keep an updated bracket in this thread so you can see how the tournament is moving along from round to round.

Rules

Double Elmination

Seeded brackets based off of week 2, 3, and 4 tournaments

Two out of three matches, Two out of three rounds

Winners Finals 3 out of 5 matches

Losers Finals 3 out of 5 matches

Grand Finals 4 out of 7 matches

Akuma is allowed. VEGA IS BANNED.

Start button colors are not allowed.

How things will work… I will make the bracket shortly before the tournament begins. Please be on time. Once the bracket is made, the matches will be relayed on the mIRC program. The first person who I call will be the host and 2nd will receive the invite from them. The winner of the match will then report to me on IRC, and once your next match is available to play out, I will then follow the same thing where I will send a message to one person to start a room, and you will play your next match.

THIS IS A DOUBLE ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT. If you lose one match, you ain’t done, son. If you can’t stick around, please let me know. If you do not get started within a reasonable amount of time, you will be considered as forfeit, so that we may proceed with the tournament.

is there any way to reference an online tournament bracket (which is updated in relative real-time)? mIRC will help with coordination, however a visual aid could help reduce a lot of confusion - especially in the early rounds.

Check the App store. There are a few free clients, however for like $2 you could get a vastly superior program like Colloquy.
