I wouldn’t say “convert,” but it is a nice alternative UNTIL Zbattle returns. The earlier versions (which I tried about 2 weeks ago) were anything but user-friendly. The newer versions on the other hand, are relatively user-friendly. The only drawback with Z-net lies with the fact that it operates through mIRC which will deter a lot of people. Especially those who thought Zbattle was pretty hard to set up…
thats true, i should have worded it better. just a nice temp replacement. something to tide us over til zbattle ever picks up again. the new znet version works pretty well. but it still gets picky at times with filenames when connected to certain people. just wish everyones roms were with goodsnes standards
z-net is cool, I’ve been using it since like the day it came out, and it is progressing nicely with each new update. I still miss zbattle though

How do you connect to zbattle server? I keep on getting Error connecting to server. I also tried that TCP UDP 7845 and 400 ports for router… but still doesn’t work. How do u guys get it to work?

Well, it is indeed up & running right now. I guess with Z-net too, we have 2 incarnations of Xband, Snes & Genesis 
Is there any way to set it so that znet isnt the default mirc program when I click a link in IE? I do a lot of downloading using xdcc packets and url links and znet just doesn’t work well for me when its popping up like that.
Also, no one seems to want to play HF I don’t even know this game, but I thought it would be fun.
I dunno how you guys set it up…but I still get button delay. I don’t get lag on kaillera if I’m playing a game like HF, the server is good and the other persons connection is good. Znet takes out the lag more reliably (a dummies version of it, less variables you need to control yourself) but the delay seems to still be there for me. I usually kind of need to predict and guess on stuff. Or maybe its that moves are harder to input in older games?
More people should play HF…and maybe I need a better connection.

ssf2 is actually decent on snes. its a lot better than the arcade version, thats for sure. z-net is confusing if you dont know irc very well.

Did you set the button latency to 1 when you played? If so you shouldn’t receive any type of button delay when playing. Also, are you using a psx to usb adapter as I know some of them are known to produce a slight button delay.
As for HF, IMHO SSF2 is a better game (snes wise). For some strange reason, after playing ssf2, whenever I attempt to play HF it just feels sluggish (the controls). This only happens to me on the snes version of HF…go figure. With the addition of the speed settings, ssf2 on snes pwns its arcade counterpart. Besides that, SSF2 Ryu short hurricane kick = endless mindgames = 2 good! 
Its nice to know that if AE sucks on Live due to horrendous lag, I can at least play some OG SF with virtually no lag on Zbattle & Z-Net.
I will be setting this up tommorow. Can anyone tell me the most commonly played games on this? What fighters are good other than SSF2? Can you get 4p games like on kaillera? (mario kart

I didn’t like SSF2 in the arcades…I think its a horrible game. It is largely because of the…extreme sluggishness of the game though. I’ll try this out on SNES on Z-Net just as soon as someone can help me with the IRC thing I mentioned earlier. Its probably a simple matter of somehow making my regular IRC program the default…does anybody have any clue what I’m talking about?

Well, it looks like more & more people are showing up on both Zbattle & Z-net that can actually play. Serpent, huh, no one really likes the CPS version of SSF2. However, most of us all agree that the Snes version is far better.
There was a Jumpsuit sighting yesterday! It’s about time Jesse. We all thought you got lost in Kalliera or something On a relatable note, we have spotted Endy in Kalliera. Seems that he too was having a difficult time biding time until Zbattle came back. I just hope that lag on AE is somewhat consistent to that of the lag of Zsnes Netplay. If it is, I will definitely be on XBL moreso than either Z-net or Zbattle. However, if the lag isn’t, then I will still call Zsnes Netplay, home

retarded or not, you CANNOT discuss in any way how to obtain roms or ask for them. emulation is not illegal, however, roms are if you dont own it. srk tries to stay within the legal limits. so whether you try to justify it or not, it will do no good, you just DONT DO IT or it will result in a ban
