Just played that “SimSim” Dhalsim, platinum ranked 181.
I won the first game (100 Points) and waited to see if he would want to play again.
He did and I lost the second game.
So I waited again for him either to leave or to play again, he wanted another game.
Well… He lost once again! And I must say, I played much better the 3rd game.
Maybe cause he got a little worried/afraid… Don’t know…
Anyways, I find Dhalsim always too complicated to play against.
the fact that his ex spd is still 5 frames is kind of a waste all you get is slightly better damage and better oki which will be useless if your opponent has an instant dp…at least make the ex spd 1 frame or something…this way people will respect giefs space even more
More than damage, EX SPD usage is for position. It does the same damage as MP SPD and the same stun as every other SPD.
Damage: 180 - 200 (EX) - 240 (depending on the button. The same applies for Borscht Dynamite.)
Stun: 250
Yeah if you want to keep command grabs at 5 frames, at least make his ex spd 2 frames.
Just saw the Guile trailer, this matchup looks worse then Nash…walking foward flash kick & look at all those booms once v-trigger. I dont see how gief gets in.
we need an spd that goes through between opponents strings we need a move that makes them think twice before pressuring us

Well guys, no changes are coming soon. Not until after this season of tournaments anyway. Discussing these buffs might be fun but isn’t going to do any good when we are playing. Our efforts here would be better spent by figuring out these nightmare matchups or researching new tech.

Juri - Projectiles and you know her normals are going to be Chun good.
Urien - Wall and projectiles.
Ibuki _ Fast walk speed and kunais.
And if you think they may be nothing like thier SF3/4 versions, look at Alex. Basically the same character.
Yeah I don’t see any of the dlc’s being fun mu’s at all and currently I don’t think Gief wins any mu’s at high levels. I’d say Laura is even but that might change in time too.
I think he beats Mika; I’ll explain why later when I’m off work.
I’ve had success using cr. MK and cr. HK against Chun. What pokes do you guys use?
Our biggest weapon against most of the cast is the vtrigger meaties, I think.
c.lp got to be on every gief go to moves
I don’t use cr mk at distance enough. The frames are bad but the pushback on it keeps it safe against most of the cast. I really need to work it more in my game as it low profiles a lot of moves

I’m not at home to test this so I need help from my fellow Giefs. Can someone test the frame advantage we have after an anti-air jab and an anti-air cr hp.
I feel giefs only good mu is mbison…

By the way, I’m trying to use vskill between certain strings. For example, you can vskill Nash’s cr. mp - st MP if he finishes with a sonic boom or MK/HK scythe. Also, in Chun cr. lp - st.mp - cr.mk if you block and keep pressing back during the st. mp while standing you get a free EX or jab SPD since the cr. mk whiffs.
In a few situations you can get a SPD or CA after vskill.
PS: after most links that involve a medium attack into another you can vskill between. One example is cr. MP into st. MP with Karin. You can use vskill after cr. MP. You may need to use the 3 hit armor for some of her attacks, but in some cases you can go with HP SPD.
