GDLK thanks man.
Thanks Disabel, saving me from having to try to pry my mom’s galaxy note phone thingie from her to record lol.
So I main mag verg doom, but I was messing around with Morrigan in the lab, one of my long time favorites, with Doom second. I’m sure everyone knows that you can TAC after her aerial finishing shower, giving you 700k off of an optimized morrigan combo before the TAC, and a whopping 1.2m after a standard doom TAC.
I was messing around with soul steal combos and was able to get two into one combo and end with a finishing shower, here are the notations if anyone is interested.
j. LL st.LM (forward medium+ vergil rapid slash assist here. I think the command normal is called deep crescendo, and there are other assists I’m sure would work instead of vergil.) cancelled into soul steal, assist hits, j. MH xx soul fist, fly, ADD j. H xx soul fist, unfly, st. (S + missiles assist) sj. MMHS, soul steal when missiles come down, fly, M shadowblade xx finishing shower.
The above combo only does about 600k because you can’t TAC after it. In an effort to steal meter and still be able to TAC after, I came up with a little variant to the above combo. Where you would normally throw the second soul steal when the missiles OTG, you can instead do a st. S and tiger knee a M shadowblade into finishing shower. Yes, you do lose one soul steal this way, but are now allowed to TAC into the character of your choice, again, I used Doom.
1x soul steal combo with finishing shower ender into standard Doom TAC ~1.1m. Don’t know if anyone else has posted this before, but I figured someone might get some mileage out of it. Happy fisting morrigan forums.
Lanzoma actually came up with a Soul Drain combo with Rapid Slash that uses two Soul Drains (three/four with Hidden Missiles), the notations are: (whatever starter) (f. M + Rapid Slash) xx Soul Drain xx fly Soul Drain xx unfly j.MMH Soul Fist H/L xx fly ADDF j.H Soul Fist L/H unfly (s.S + Hidden Missiles) sj. MMHS or sj. H Shadowblade M xx fly sj. S land Soul Drain xx fly Shadowblade M Finishing Shower or Soul Drain xx fly Soul Drain
So it’s pretty much the exact same combo as yours, with an extra Soul Drain in the beginning. I never thought about the s.S tiger knee Shadowblade though, that is really nice.
Darchon made a new video, notations are there as well. Unfortunately no damage listed for the combos, but I’ll try to do the combos myself and list the damage. I’ll try to get this up tomorrow, hope you guys (well, the remaining ones after the great forum change of death) try them out too.
Vouch that, darchon’s vids are a must see for aspiring morrigans.
Well…I was going to list the damage for each of the combos (within my ability, I just skip the ones with weird assists) and then I realized that 99% of them have impractical starters (wtf ADD H s.M/S ) in Darchon’s video…So yeah. Bleh. Anyway, combo 1 does 623K meterless, 1,116K with lv. 3, combo 3 does 495K meterless 900K with lv.3, combo 8 does 522K meterless. Nevertheless the combos are fun (and difficult) to do.
So…just making sure, but her optimal midscreen solo combo is:
tridash j.H > land > M > cr.M > cr.H > S > j.H xx L Soul Fist xx Fly > ADD > j.H xx H Soul Fist xx unfly > land > j.MMH xx L Soul Fist xx Fly > ADD > j.H xx L Soul Fist xx unfly > land > S > j.MMH xx M/H Shadowblade xx Finishing Shower
correct? plus or minus a normal. I use the M > cr.M > cr.H as a hit confirm, so thats why its in there.
Hmm…so im messing with the Morrigan TAC infinite, but I cant seem to get the soul drain part down at all. Morrigan is always too low to the ground. Is there a specific timing or something that im missing? Could someone maybe upload a video with button sounds / showing hands ?
Im doing everything up until the soul drain unfly j.M. My M never connects as morrigan is too low. Do I need to delay my ADD more? any other tips?
Edit: Im able to connect the j.M after the soul drain thing every time now, but I always JUST miss the j.H after. So close I can taste it =( also, what strength Soul Fist is used after the rejump MMH ? L Soul Fist?
Hey guys sorry I haven’t updated in a long while. College has been kicking my ass, and I’ve barely been able to keep up with current events. The site is much different now as well and I initially stayed away because the new design kind of strains my eyes. Anyways I saw that many of the links and stuff are broken and I wanted to clean the guide up and add all of the new Morrigan tech but I don’t know how? I see the little gear thing for my regular posts, but its not showing up for my original posts.
As far as I know, yes that is her optimal midscreen combo.
What you have to do in the infinite is the input nullification technique. When you unfly, you want to press S and M at the same time, so the input would be QCB S+M. What this does is allow j.M to come out the instant she unflies, giving you enough time to do j.H. If you’re already doing the input nullification technique, you’re probably cancelling Soul Drain too early.
Yeah, this site is kinda weird now. I don’t really understand how editing works for OP because I’ve never made a thread, but don’t worry about updating the guide too much because I’m perfectly willing to go in-depth to answer anyone’s questions. Focus on real life:)
Don’t bother yet, theres still too much work in progress. You’d just have to redo it all again anyway.
So someone told me that doing morrigans infinite with M soul Fist makes the infinite easier for some reason. Is there truth to this? If so, why?
Damn that sucks. Hopefully I’ll still have some free time once the site has been polished up
It’s just his/her opinion (I think). Soul Fist M makes the opponent drop faster, so maybe he/she likes that and it makes it easier for them. I’ve never used Soul Fist M in any of my combos, so I wouldn’t be able to get used to using it.
Does M Soul Fist really make them fall faster then L Soul Fist? Has this been confirmed or is it just assumed?
Also, just curious but does anyone find her infinite difficult to perform on certain characters and easier on some (and I dont mean sentinel). For example, I can land it on Magneto, Dorm, Chun, and Dante (among others) relatively easily and consistently, yet when I try it on Vergil, Nova, and Wolverine, I can almost never land it. Are some characters “floatier” than others? Or is it a hitbox thing? or am I just imagining this. I mean I can kinda understand wolverines being a hitbox thing, but Nova? Vergil? It doesnt seem to add up.
Could someone enlighten me?
Edit: nvm about vergil. I just infinited him to death. Still curious about the possible hurtbox stuff and the M Soul Fist though.
BTW what are some good XF2/3 combos for Morri? Preferably XF2.
Darchon has some in his Morrigan combo videos. Not sure on practicality because I have never tested them myself. Link to his latest video below
Nvm, I can infinite every character pretty consistently now. I just needed to delay my first ADD a bit longer.
Also idk why, but personally, to start the infinite, M Soul Fist allows it to be MUCH more consistent for me. Just saying
