Your 3 Most Skilful Japanese Players (except Kuroda)

This man knows his stuff.

  1. K.O
  2. Tokido (in his prime with Urien)
    3.Spellmaster J (mindfuck perfection)
  1. Thanatos
  2. Thanatos
  3. Thanatos

Pierrot and Nuki

Pierrot does things i never think would work and yet somehow they do

Nuki is the only fighting game player I fear. i always liked his play style in cvs2 with that n groove rushdown but his chun in 3s scares me

oh yes, honorable mention to Mr. Rapely Von Rapenwulf aka “THERAPIST”

mimora and boss are my favorite right now.

MOV

Special mention goes to Yamazaki for managing to hang (sort of) with Twelve

RX
Hayao
Pinoab7/Sugiyama

For mastering hard characters.

Hayao

Aruka

Momochi
His comebacks with Yun at SBO5 were fuckin’ amazing).
If he can OCV both MOV and Kuroda, he definitely deserves some props.

WOW! This “Roshi” thread hasn’t been closed, and I usually LIKE the threads he makes :stuck_out_tongue:  haha, so I’m BORED, obviously.

3 most-skilled? Not sure, but Mimora would probably be 1 of them. This guy only seems to lose RANDOMLY/for no specific reason, if EVER.

In no order, I’d say the CURRENT most impressive players I’ve seen (since the end of last year) are Mimora, Genki, Aike/Aiku, Vanao, YSB, Furo, and Boss.

Is Mimora a NEW player? He’s AMAZING!!! He must be fun to fight, but also NUTZ as an opponent! I would get dizzy just WATCHING him!

Genki makes Alex look upper-tier, although Zangoef/Zangoefu was my fave’ Alex while he was still an active player. I think I’d prefer Genki now though, anyway. He made me wanna play Alex more again.

Aiku does as well against Chuns as ANY Dudley player I’ve seen. He often takes out Nuki in tournaments!!

Boss and K.O both impress me as overall amazing players who are versatile w/ multiple characters. K.O used to be perhaps the WORLD’S best player, until Daigo seemed to have claimed that rep, and then, Kuroda, of course! Boss mostly entertains me as an Akuma player.

My ALL-time fave’ player is STILL Pinoab7, who taught me cool/WEIRD Necro combos and is THE reason I started playing him!

Fujiwara was my all-time fave’ player before I learned of Pino. He made me want to learn Dudley in the same way as Pino made me wanna play Necro: they made the characters seem REALLY fun, as they were already entertaining enough just to watch!

Sugiyama, Uni, and now, YAKKUN, are impressing me a LOT with Necro, lately. Pino seems more focused on playing SF4 these days :stuck_out_tongue: NONE of these 3 players play enough lately, though, imo. NOW, though, the Necro color-palette selection is complete, as Tamu seems to be a newer (or just little-known) Necro player who picks the last color I needed to associate w/ a Japanese player (Uni picks TWO colors: purple and gold; Sugiyama picks the hk color; Pino is original color; Ueda is blue, and my online penpal Ikeyama picks turquoise, leaving red for Tamu).

Dirty and Thanatos are both very entertaining Oros, and TM made me think Q has a lot of potential, just as Hayao made me think Hugo’s very underrated, yet YSB seems to be the best Hugo for now, as Hayao may have gotten rusty and/or lost his passion. Hugo has supposedly moved up in the tiers lately, and I can’t help but think YSB has something to do with it (or Matei?).

I had a feeling Furo was an “up-and-coming” player, and if he’s the guy from the God’s Garden matches from December, going crazy w/ SAIII and beating opponents that Roshi was losing to, then my hunch was correct!

I guess I just don’t understand the fascination w/ MOV, other than beating Nuki while having a broken joystick hand. He’s also a very versatile player (uses Yang, Hugo, Ryu, etc.), but I feel he seldom plays enough to give ppl a good impression of how good he is. Some would probably argue that the fact he does so well in tournies despite SEEMINGLY playing infrequently by comparison is a testament to his skill.

Kashi, DeshikenKFG, RX, Nuki, Pierrot, Ruu, Namijin, etc. are all excellent players  lol

My 3 picks are:
Mimora - a.k.a. the black Makoto in recent videos (from TheShend on YouTube). He’s scary!
RX - The best Urien player in Japan, IMO.
YSB - I like his aggressive playstyle. He put a good show in recent videos from the Gamespot Versus League in Japan.

I’m going to have to add Pierrot on my list, the guy is so impressive -more so than RX in my eyes.

Fujiwara was always one of my favourite players.

I likes J, Hayao too.

Mine are:
RX (My all life fav Player no matter if he wins or not any SBO
or get beasted since were talking about Skills. His mind games, combos, etc)
Hayao (The only player i can compare to Kuroda in terms of
Tech, being smart, mind games and presure game)
Nuki (A legendary player who doesnt have the reputation he deserve)
Rikimaru (So arrogant but so smart player)
BOSS (When he just play Yun i thought he was better than K.O and still thinking on that)
Thanatos (My fav Oro Player, so crazy)
J (The best Makoto ive ever see, better than Mimoras nowdays)
Deshiken KFG (Best Ken)
Mester (My fav Yun Player)
Pino AB7 (The best Necro even better than Sugiyama to me)
Fujiwara (Best Dudley ever)
Roshihikari (Best Yang Player to me)

YIKES. Our opinions are SO similar, it’s SCARY. Pino’s STILL my fave’ player, assuming he keeps playing 3S instead of just SF4 these days. I think Sugi and Uni have performed better as of late, though, and they started to entertain me ALMOST as much.

Fujiwara was my previous fave’ player before I found out about Pino, but I think he really DID retire :stuck_out_tongue:

In a YouTube vid that featured a Rikimaru interview, he said Boss currently has the best Yun. I THOUGHT his Yun was GODLY. There are several YT vids of him beating K.O and Nitto in Yun mirrors. I don’t care much about Yun players in general, but Mester IS among my fave’ Yuns, along w/ Boss, and then K.O

Thanatos…probably still my favorite Oro over Dirty Music.

I think Hayao got rusty and YSB’s doing better than he (grammar?! :P) these days, but he was my preferred Hugo to watch.

I’m not sure if ANYONE can compete with Mimora’s Makoto, currently :open_mouth: it’s almost like he has a win button…

MOV told me that RX is trash.

food for thought.

Fujiwara
Deshiken
Hayao
