My funniest movie experience was watching Ted a couple weeks after it had come out.
One who row was roped off for a private party, after the previews started playing two adults escorted out an entire row of 10 year olds to watch Ted.
10 year olds.
Watching a movie that many 18 year olds would be too sheltered for (you laugh but growing up I knew a lot of people this was true for)

Obviously the decision making process of someone willing to bust shots in a theatre isn’t the greatest, but c’mon… the previews?
- We ain’t talkin about the movie. We’re taking about previews… We talkin’ about previews. Previews? not the movie.
He could have at least waited until the opening scene, maybe the guy would have stopped. A scene from an upcoming Pixar flick, or a few jokes from the next Will Ferrell movie can’t be that important.
– Side note. Anyone else wondering what kind of cop this guy was?
The sad part is this dude was a Captain for Tampa police…getting all crazy because over Lone Survivor aka Call of Duty the movie.

We’r not getting the whole story here:
*A former police officer accused of shooting a man dead for texting in a Florida movie theater on Monday was denied bail when he appeared in court Tuesday to face second-degree murder charges.
Curtis Reeves, 71, allegedly began arguing with Chad Oulson when the 43-year old father was using his phone during the previews before the Lone Survivor at a theater in Wesley Chapel, Fla. Witnesses say Reeves left the theater to complain to a manager, but returned even more irritated, CNN reports. Oulson told Reeves he was just texting his young daughter, but the fight escalated. According to the police report, Oulson threw a bag of popcorn at Reeves, and then Reeves shot him with a .380 semi-automatic handgun.
Both men were sitting with their wives. Oulson’s wife Nicole held up her hand to protect her husband when Reeves pulled out his gun, and but the bullet went through her hand and into her husband’s chest.
One witness heard Oulson say “I can’t believe I got shot” as blood started to come out of his mouth, CNN reports.
Some shocked witnesses apprehended Reeves after the shooting, while others performed CPR on Oulson until paramedics arrived. Oulson eventually died at the hospital.
Reeves, who was a captain in the Tampa police department until 1993 and later directed security at Busch Gardens, was charged with second-degree murder. He told police he fired his weapon at the victim because he was “in fear of being attacked,” according to the police report.
A judged denied him bail.

Gives the term Pop Off a whole new meaning…LITERALLY!
Well this was the part where I cracked up. Everything here’s just freaking silly.
We have already discussed the proper way to handle such problems. There is even a song about it.

I was almost shocked, then I read that it was in Florida.
Florida might as well be the Chuck Testa of US states.
“Is that a shocking news of shooting in a theatre?”
“Nope, just Florida.”
Shot an unarmed man in the chest because he was “afraid of being attacked”. Once you become a cop the bullshit never stops leaving your mouth even after you retire.

This dude is a real piece of shit, even if the “texting dad” was also being an asshole about the situation. It always makes me smile when people like this are ultimately executed. People like this are the classic examples of why you should always have only the lowest expectations of human nature.
*What happened to the “good ol’ days” when that situation would just lead up to a good fight, then both guys being thrown out of there? It is a shame that he’s already an old man… he doesn’t have much longer to exist in this world anyway, so anything will end up being a “life” sentence, really.

The cop is out of his mind. He deserves the second-degree murder charge. When was a thrown bag a popcorn a green light to shoot a white man?

People are stupid and dangerous. It is a wonder this type of thing isn’t the norm.

Wasn’t Wild West here old enough to be around during the “good ol days?” Florida is just a fucked place. America’s Australia.
please remove raz0r from this thread, he made me laugh when i shouldnt be.
i finally just bothered to look into this story, and just wow. what a pitiful man to kill another man like that, and no justice can truly be served considering his days are almost over anyways. thats why you gotta watch it these days with anyone now. people are getting more and more on edge, and not for any really good reasons.
plus, florida, wow. i have 3 joints to actually add to the florida thread later tonight. that place is the fucking worst

dude was trying to be a tough guy and throw popcorn at an old man, not the best idea.
I agree.
The shooter being a long standing cop was probably accustomed to people obeying his authority, and this dude not stopping probably drove to him an 11/10 on the anger scale…
If I were the texter, I’d have just moved to a different seat if available or simply left.
They shouldn’t give this guy any time, clearly they should study him in some sort of facility to determine what caused him to do such a thing because everyone knows there is no such thing as personal accountability right @goodm0urning?

well there was an article that said he had a confrontation with some chick over the same thing at the movie theater a week or 2 before. he just sounds like a crotchety old man that’s keeping it a little too real.
What’s so fucking hard about keeping your phones off in the theater? You’re coming to watch a movie, not to make stupid calls or texts. For god’s sake do that before the screen darkens or once the movie is over.
I honestly don’t give a flying fuck that he was shot and killed for texting during the previews. For real, it’s about time that someone took action against selfish dipshits in a movie theatre.
