So what would be a nice anchor for doom, storm? Doesn’t have to be an amazing anchor like wesker but should have synergy with them and can hold his/her own.

What other characters have ridiculously long thc’s like ammy’s. I’m going for a lockdown type deal and even though ammy is best at it with her thc and assist I don’t like her much. I’m thinking chris is nice b/c his super is long but it might not be an inescapable setup.

I was actually coming here to ask about doom/akuma and how y’all felt about it so thanks for the pre-emptive answer lol. So I guess my team of doom/sent/akuma is considered a solid team if a lil top heavy right? Cuz Im currently torn between doom, trish and dormammu for the point spot on my team. I used to play trish but I don’t know she works as well with sent/akuma, now Im tryna find a replacement that compliments the other two well and Im considering either doom or dormammu.
Sentinel, his assist works exceptionally well with both doom and storm and he is a solid anchor once you put in the work. The other one I can think of is akuma, Im not sure how well doom works with tatsu assist but I know its one of storms best assists.
If Doom is on a team and hes not last, he needs Strider, Ammy or Sent in the back. Those are pretty much the only assists that really allow him to play a complete game.
So while we are on the subject, how do you feel about my team of doom/sent/akuma? As you know I was originally considering dormammu but Im also looking into victor. What do you think? And which team do you think is stronger?
Finally, you don’t think doom can operate with tatsu? How come? He seems to have a solid enough tri-dash that he can make good use of the assist but Im new to the character so I might not know what Im talking about.
Lol played using doom,dorm, akuma. The damage output and meter build with tac’s is unreal I’d recommend it despite drones being awesome. I don’t really know why doom isn’t that good with tatsu for most people. Works especially nice in the corner and allows photo array combos after combos with plenty of hitstun but if you will use tatsu. Zoning would be great with doom its a get off me along with dooms nice zoning. Just overall better but I might be completely wrong.
Ill run some tests for sure, my scene is kinda dead though since everyone left for evo(well truth be told its dead in general but still) but now that its over I might be able to run a few sets with some people and get some field experience with the team. Im not a fan of TAC’s in the slightest(don’t like giving my opponent a chance to escape) so ill prolly forgo that part of the plan and tbh I built this entire team to allow me to play sentinel so yea, he’s definitely not getting removed from the team.
Thanks for the input though, on paper tatsu seems like it would work with doom(all his normals are jump cancellable right?).
Confirming off tatsu is hell for doom but this confirm usually works for most situations off tatsu

You have to dash cancel like mad to catch up after tatsu hits which can often be difficult.
Also, if you want to run sentinel on point, I’ve been saying this for a while. This is the best sentinel point team: Sentinel/Doom(missiles)/strider (vajina)
It gives you very extended combos that give more damage and meter build and are quite easy and those assists help A LOT. Missiles helps him keepaway and approach, and vajira is vajira.
Yea it definitely seemed like doom wasn’t fast enough to catch up to tatsu unlike storm and magneto. Thanks none the less. Also, in regards to the point sentinel team, if your running vajra, why run hidden missiles as well? They are both vertical type assists imo so its kinda like running plasma beam and disruptor. Especially since doom has such a good horizontal assist in plasma beam.
Vajira allows you to do safe strings like neutralize neutralize vajira rocket punch neutralize neutralize flight
It’s good for on the spot since sentinel isn’t the best at protecting a slow assist like missiles with his slow speed. It’s also good for incoming mixups: Call vajira fly back and forth like fanatiq does with storm’s assist. If it hits in the air, you can just do RP into HSF into a combo or RP xfactor, but I’m sure you knew dat.
Tatsu is a decent get off me assist that will aid Doom’s keepaway. He can get a combo off it but you have to predict its gonna hit in my experience. You cant like trade with something, then have tatsu hit the other person then have enough time to tri dash over to them. Someone like Magneto with a fast wavedash can confirm off it pretty nicely, with time to confirm it hitting, but Doom has to be ready and predict.
Doom/Sentinel/Akuma is the best order there Jak imo. Each assist helps out in that set order. Sentinel helps Doom and Akuma helps Sentinel. Doom can help sentinel if you get a bar and want to dhc into sentinel safely, then Sentinel on point with Tatsu and Missiles behind him is probably the best point sent team you can get. If Akuma is on point for whatever reason, he can cover and utilise missiles and drones really well too.
When you think about it, that team is ‘team assist’ where it works because each character works with each other no matter which way round it is. Has really good DHC’s to fit almost any situation too. Literally the only mediocre pairing in that whole team is if youre only left with Doom backed by Tatsu, but even then youve probably got bars to DHC Akuma in and have him with missiles.
Yea Im planning on running doom/sentinel/akuma, I only run sent on point during casuals to improve my sentinel play and my doom/akuma play. Thanks for the vote of confidence, and yes, I do believe sent/doom/tatsu is prolly the best it gets for a point sentinel team.
Now to start getting those mid-screen footdive loops down.
I really enjoy Doom and I’m thinking of running a Doom point team. I know Doom/Strider or Doom/Ammy are probably the best shells but didn’t want to learn those characters yet nor can I think of a character that fits in the end or middle or those teams. What do people think is the easiest to learn Doom point? I’m thinking about Doom/Sentinel/? but can’t think of a good anchor that helps doom.

No seriously, Jam or Weasel Shot helps a ton.
I use sentinel anchor because I’m too lazy to learn other characters. Dante assist is good too if you can stand playing him anchor, but it wasn’t working out for me
you could maybe try super skrull too but I imagine small characters can probably duck tenderizer assist so it’s not as good for lockdown
In my Dante/Doom/Strider team, I’ve been running Weasel Shot. Is there any reason I should run Jam Session instead? I feel like I’ve got anti-air covered with Strider, and Weasel Shot provides better lockdown.
