I tend to use s.M as my main poke most of time, it has a big hitbox and some “armor” will beat a LOT of stuff.

if they block, you do a string with M.H.f+H and throw a dagger so you’re safe.
If they don’t, just do your BnB of choice, mine right now is> M,H f+H, S, MMHS, bottle, scythe, f+H,S, MMHS, bottle, Goddess Bracelet

or

M,H, f+H, S, MMHS, bottle xx golden armor, f + H, MH, axe, heavenly slash, Goddess Bracelet… from there, you xfactor and get Dark Arthur running :stuck_out_tongue:

So i’ve been floating about for a while now, and my ‘team’ has cycling through thirds for a while. Taskmaster/Dormammu has great synergy… but Hulk/Tron/Thor/Haggar/Skrull haven’t been my cup of tea at all. Then i picked this furious little man [i’ve played him before but not with T/D] and i absolutely love him. I have him in third slot, any ideas on how I should proceed with this angry little man?

also, any hope on maximo for a costume?

Welcome to the club! The more the merrier! I would recommend using daggers as an assist. It is a very good assist. It goes full screen, has 9 low durability projectile points, keeps people locked down, doesn’t scale combos and is active quickly. You need to be careful with it, though, since Arthur comes out in front of the point character. If you make him gold, this assist is bananas. It will pierce through multiple opponents and has 15 low durability points. It’s the type of assist that any character can use. Looking at your team, I can tell that daggers will assist Task with his keepaway/chip game as well as keeping people locked down on rushdown. Dormammu can use daggers with his teleports. Your team does seem to be full of meter users, though, so keep in mind that Arthur needs at least 1 meter (discussed below).

As an anchor, Arthur gets a huge boost from XF3 in speed and power. The speed is improved even more (to crazy levels) if he activates XF3 while in gold armor. Why this is, I do not know. XF3 gold Arthur wants to chip with lances and arrows. You can combo many lances together. The lance has medium priority durability, while arrows track and have a lot of durability (I can’t remember off the top of my head… 9-15, IIRC). Because he gets such a huge speed increase, you can actually rush people down if need be.

Arthur’s LV3 is awesome. It comes out quickly, covers a huge amount of the screen and has a ton of invincibility. His LV3 is one of the few that hits assists as well. XF pop into Lv3 or Lv3 pop into XF (to get extra damage by attacking while they are juggled) is an awesome strategy.

With XF3 and hypers stocked, he is one of the most devastating anchors in the game. Take your time to read up on some of our discussions to learn more about this hidden gem. This is one of the more informative and positive character forums around, IMO!

S.m has less range and is slower than c.l unfortunately. I’ve noticed that I haven’t been using s.h that much. It has great range. H, F+H xx Lances x2 looks like a great poke/blockstring. Lances actually push the opponent out much farther than daggers, and you can still easily hit confirm to super. I’m going to use this, see how effective it is and post my results.

I still think Arthur needs some more tools to compete properly against the top characters without relying in golden armor + xfactor3…

Arthur needs to not fucking degrade two levels just for upgrading himself up one. It’s the most asinine thing in the damn game and I still don’t see the point of it.

When he dies with armor on, it breaks. When he dies with no armor on it he turns into a pile of bones.

There, there’s your stupid little ‘IT PLAYS / ACTS JUST LIKE THE GAME GUYS ITS SO COOL’ homage.

I mean fuck, even when it breaks it puts him into a god damn otg state. My opponent can use that shit against me. Have the common decency / sensibility to just give him a hard knock down with no chance of follow ups.

but I already main Arthur in Vanilla where he has no dive and no health buff… I’ll probably main him in Ultimate too :stuck_out_tongue:
Arthur is just way too cool.

Still… I’d love to recharge Golden Armor by doing it again so I wouldn’t get killed just because my super ended and I got hard knocked down and having tons of invulnerability on Heavenly Slash to use it as a reliable GTFO move.

honestly, from the looks of him, I don’t think Hawkeye will be overlapping with Arthur. He strikes me as more of a precision zoner, like a combination of Chris and Taskmaster, rather than lolfillthescreenwithshit like Arthur.

I’ve been experimenting with some DHC’s after an early Goddess’ Bracelet, like after Lance Toss x2 -> GB DHC. DHC to Berserker Charge lets Wolverine connect a heavy Berserker Slash into a full combo. DHC into Devil Trigger can get something I’m sure, Grapple combos in some cases, but I’m trying to figure out a better combo with Teleport. Maybe Zero can get something with an instant air M hienkyaku (faster recovery than ground version) or something.

Anyone got any other good ways to make Goddess’ Bracelet more threatening? Hopefully a way that doesn’t cost so much meter and builds some back.

Well, depending on how goddess bracelet connects, you can jump forward to get close and make it keep hitting so you can launch into something afterwards (hitstun scaling would ruin most combos in this situation, but you can still try a TAC), you also can spam daggers at the end of it to get a safe raw tag or you can go straight into another goddess bracelet for 180k of full scaled damage…

Most of times, you’ll be spending most your meters into Golden Armor or Lv3 shenanigans… Those are simply much better options unless you have a lot of meter and already wasted your xfactor.

Also, my arthur tends not to fight that much on point if I still have anyone to DHC into, he just stays there as assist until he’s alone and then becomes dark arthur to chip everyone to death… LOL

Yeah I know, but I’m trying my hardest to make Arthur viable on point. And if you hit the opponent standing the Goddess’ Bracelet doesn’t affect hitstun scaling much at all.

I played Arthur on point with Dormammu and Akuma for quite a long time. Both characters did a good job DHCing beams after Goddess Bracelet, but that is nothing special.
But this team was the best I found with Arthur on point… I used Akuma as a GTFO assist and Dormammu with Purification assist to get people who try approach from above.

aside of Wolverine, Dante and Zero you already found out, I don’t think there’s much more characters that can do something really special from a Goddess Bracelet DHC…

from the top of my head, I think you can try Ammy’s slow super… maybe you can get a full combo out of that too.
