The only thing holding Wolverine back is the push-blocking mechanic. Like someone said, it isn’t fun to get pushed full screen when you’ve only done a light attack.
Hopefully Berserker Rage (Speed-Up) can cover that push-blocked distance and have Wolverine still be able to apply pressure.
They nerfed the time of the speed up alot, it doesn’t even last half the time it use to.
Maybe the pushblocking mechanic can be a mixup. Either they let you pressure them and try to tech throws, or they try to pushblock you except you don’t attack you throw.
Idk how effective throws or throw techs are in mvc3 though.
a LOT of throws can be combo’d out of (yeah, even normal ones), so they’re pretty good when you can get them off.
I really do wonder what Wolvie can do while he’s sped up. He doesn’t build any meter, and it only lasts like 5 seconds, so I’m guessing that the devs/testers found some nice bullshit infinite while he was sped up.
thats all i can think of, he must of had some nasty loop if that shaved half the time off it without buff anything else at all…I dont know about wasting a bar on a 5 sec speed up, I dont care how fast you get, its not like he has a over head…
^He has an instant overhead into crossup, dude posted it way back in this thread. Also his berserker strike can cross up xx super assume.
I can’t see speed up really help either one of those… more so the BS, didn’t know about the instant over head, but if it actually instant then…well you get my drift. I’m guessing it was more of a nasty loop than anything.
Yeah, I’ve seen very few good Wolvie players in the vids, but again, I see flashes of what-could-be scary bullshit, including that beefed-up Strike attack that now crosses up. Couple that, instant dive kicks, and drill claws with the right assist and (what I’m guessing) is speed-up loop and he could probably take off a nice chunk of damage in those 5 seconds.
And if he combo off his backthrow like before, geez…

I wonder if his speed-up affects his assists. You can visibly see the effects when you switch out and use him. It might justify the use of 1 bar for a short 5 seconds.
I’m a huge fan of wolverine, but i think he needs something more. First and for most he needs more time on his speed up super. even if it’s only 1-2 more seconds, shit.Give wolvie his head stomp from mvc1( where he goes straight down along with his current one). That way he can do his corner combos from mvc1(which gives him a lot of options) and hit with overheads at an angle.
Got a question can he combo off his shoulder throw like he can in mvc1?

It might stay. Viewtiful Joe’s Godhand (slow super) stays on the opponent if they switch out, so maybe Wolverine’s stays on too?
It stays, we’ve seen the glow. It’s just not entirely clear if it actually speeds up his assists or not >> There’s footage somewhere I think, too lazy to look it up.
He can combo off the air throw, dunno about ground.

that not berzerker slash, its his standing strong. Its only useful in the corner because it knocks back. Its a nice corner combo tho.
My fave combo is random air combo ending with drill claw, fall a bit, jab, diagonal drill call, air super.
