I find the lack of arcade Justice and Kliff to be a crime. They have such great looking sprites, and with some slight tweaking they would be perfectly balanced. Arc has no reason not to put them in the arcade version.

Don’t know what she looks like under all that armor, but I feel confident in saying I’d hit it. I mean seriously, there’s no such thing as an ugly female GG character, well maybe S-ko being the exception, but you catch my drift.

Yes, we’ll just ignore the fact that Faust has been a top competing character since XX and Sol has really only been top in Slash, with an honorable mention in XX. Shoved down your throat indeed. Or hell, how about Jam? Average in XX and suddenly jumps to awesome in #R, and still hella solid in Slash.
Sol is still the most fun character to play if you like to intimidate people and play mindgames (IMO).
WTF @ throw breaks. If what I read is correct, you can actually break COMMAND GRABS with this throw break system. Fuck THAT. The entire point of a character having a command grab is now lost. Time for even MORE attack conditioning.

BTW I’m getting really exited about this new GG. I just hope that some arcade around here manages to get it.
So is this supposed to be a true sequel to the past GGXX games, or is it yet another revision? The aesthetics actually look different now, and everyone knows that the characters will change once again.
Oh, and saying that each version of each VF4 can be compared to GGXX->GGXX#R->GGXX/ is pretty much invalid considering only the most modern version came out to console (for VF4 and VF4:E at least), and the “versions” of each VF4 were more like patches than like the “seperate releases” Arc gives to us.
I’ve learned that for 2D fighters, the easiest way to make a “sequel” is to keep the sprites the same, but change everything else (you know, stages, characters, soundtrack, “look”, as well as gameplay). It worked for all those KOFs, some of the SamShos, the Vs. series, etc. That way it feels more like a new release than a revision.
actually, i find it pretty interesting. as long as it’s not 3s style throw teching, i don’t see much problem in it.
some moves should be immune from this property, though. potemkin would get boned.
Don’t know if its a sequal or a prequel yet but its not “just another revision”.
