The 5 things that I think are most important to dudley in ae as a tourney player:
5-rose taunt
We know it doesn’t do any damage but if the rest of the properties are similar to 3s then it’s a bonus in the corner
4-cr mk
An answer to low pokes have been one of dudleys main weaknesses. His active hitbox with this move will be important to determine it’s effectiveness
3-ssb
Can he still be thrown out and what is the frame advantage on block.
2-ex duck
How far, how fast, what juggle properties?
1-st hk
In super your reaction and spacing had to be perfect to use this as a footsie tool into ex mgb. If you are able to stuff things more easily namely low mid range pokes then your sky is your limit on your Dudley
I’ll keep Dudley regardless of these changes not being made but with the confirmed changes if these things operate accordingly they would make him a safer rushdown character.
I would but I finally got my laptop back, restarted my whole thing… but can’t find my CD for Dazzle… I’m gonna just buy a new HD DVR or whatever it’s called because if it’s gdlk quality. Also, “The FADC Duck Upper and after is cake but the target combo (s.MK, s.HK) into s.LP is painful.” I got it to connect. The only thing is… it took me at least 15 tries to get it at least 2 times. fml
all i know is i look at yuns rush punch/dive kick and how much distance he gets on it and his height on jump… So my calculations say that my Heavy punch will beat the hell from yun.

Playing AE since last Saturday versus the top player, who is whoring Yun…
- All Lunge punches barring EX are Crouching Jab punishable, jab once into standing roundhouse for the juice.
- F+HK will trade with Yun Dragon, even the EX version (I think so).
- Genei Jin outside a combo is actually code for block/walk back. Don’t backdash since lunge punch can catch you.
Genei Jin done outside of a combo sounds like 3s defensively.
Doing it in SF4 seems a bit bad since it takes a whole round to bulid super.
You can probably catch yun out of all of his alms with c.HK
It probably only hits mid high like 3s, can probably done on reaction since this game’s slower.
Only reason I think this is true is because all 3s characters with moves that travel long distances (ibuki neckbreaker, makoto dash punches, dudley mgb, yun’s shoulder / dash punch, were all either on block by super / red parry or by a counter attack.

Non-Combo Genei Jin is generally a waste if they don’t at some point successfully reset, hence why walking back is vital. One command throw from Yun sets up a juggle to the corner fairly easily, and since it’s a Super you cannot tech the knockdown, leaving you very vulnerable to his mix ups.
Combo Genei Jin is guaranteed damage but the combo will generally be scaled like crazy, however like before you will be taken to the corner and put into a disadvantage position when you wake up. Think of Yun’s Super as a more versatile version of Boxer’s U1, it take you to the corner, does a little extra damage and makes you shit yourself if you get hit by a crouching jab/strong.
I’d like to comment that while I played 3S and considered Yun too advanced for myself to even play casually, Super SFIV AE Yun’s Genei Jin is some dumb crap. My first Genei Jin combo in this game no joke was shoulder xx super cancel, St.HK(x5), LP Lunge, St.HK (x5), Shoulder. He can also use Super after his Ultra for more dumb crap.
Basically Genei Jin plus Daigo’s combo equals some dumb crap.
We should talk more about Dudley though honestly…

Just got a bit by the lucky Dudley lepurchan, after a disastrous day on ranked…(…dropping from 2200pp to 1500 & falling to from 7000bp to 6500bp, in a 8 game lossing streak is always fun)
But anyways… I was this close from trading this game in along with Red Dead Redemption and lucked up and found a used Fightpad and managed to snag it for under $10.

for those that dont know c.LK c.LK (c.LK) was a super hit confirm in 3s his c.lk chained like a jab would in that game

I wish Corkscrew Cross did less damage and was a 3 frame start up move sometimes. Just so those 3S style combos were possible once more, clearly that’s OP though.
I wish Corkscrew Cross was his super and had 1 frame startup like 3s.Because of how super’s startups are in sf4, i think it would have been 2 frames (1+1), but it would’ve still been a WAY better super than rocket uppercut.

Chun Li’s Super is 1+0 apparently.
I think the Dev team felt that Rocket Uppercut looked too much like Shinshoryuken. They must of realised how iconic Corkscrew Blow was and thought it was dignified to give it an Ultra incarnation. I still wish it was faster though for nostalgic reasoning.
Rockest upercut would’ve also been a better ultra, because when juggled, it must’ve hit for all the hits because it consisted of 3 uppercuts and it couldn’t just hit with one uppercut and let the other ones wiff, whereas corskrew does very few hits when juggled.Also, animation of corscrew is bullshit.I wanna see more of that Corkscrew blow.And lets not forget how far it traveled, whereas corkscrew almost doesnt move.
Good thing i don’t care about U2 and use U1 in all the matchups.(I sometimes try out U2 versus Fei or Guy)
I’m happy Dudley has two functionally good Ultra combos. U2 definitely fits Fei Long and Guy.
