Try setting your computer to a Japanese locale.
I cant even install new applocale via internet but I have a copy which works.
How to install Yata
- You need all patches, game & Microsoft Applocale
- Install a game
- Unpack all patches in game folder.
- Pick all “old patches” (all except verup120811 & verup111231) right click them>settings>Compatibility>run as win98\ME
- Install all the patches in respective order.
- Launch applocale (next>browse, choose game exe, next> choose 日本語 (last option)>Make a shortcut>end)
- Start>programms>Microsoft Apploceale> rightclick > send… to desktop
If you see boxes here: 日本語, you have a problem. YOU DON’T HAVE SUPPORT FOR JAP FONTS. Google it, install it.
99% of jap games work without setting your computer to a Japanese locale.
(when I write a post bigger that 2 words weird feeling starts creeping me. I start to think that my english so bad that nobody could understand me.)
1-4 done.
5 onwards, I can’t get any patches to install. The error messages I get are things like “C:\yatagarasu4\char\Chadha\DBImageComp\ImagePackComp.gdx” and “C:\yatagarasu4\yatagarasu4.exe”.
I think I have version 2011.09.26.
Which OS do you have?
Try to change Compatibility to Win 2000 and “run program as administrator”.
P.S.: every time I play Yata I find something new.
Hanzo has two hit boxes in her 214HK but only one hits. if opponent is hit by first (lower) hitbox 214HK is jumpcancelable and not if opponent hit by second (higher) hitbox.
I got the game updated to ver. 120206 and the latest patch is ver. 120811 and I can’t update the latest patch correctly. It gives me a box and I’m suppose to look for the yata folder?
Windows 7 64-bit
Ok, I’ll give that a shot.
If the comparability mode doesn’t work, try setting your PC to a Japanese locale. Not AppLocale, actually changing your computer to Japanese.
Hey guys. Just recently heard about this game through a random youtube vid:

The game looks pretty interesting. It looks quite similar to the visual style and game play style of Third Strike, with a bit of an air-dasher feel to it. Anybody know where I can get some more info about this game?
Maximilian sure is a random video alright. There’s also not very much of any air dasher feel to it, it’s pretty purely 3S. This will give you basic info to get you started.
Seemed random since I usually only catch his ASSIST ME stuff. As far as I know, he doesn’t usually showcase other games like this. Good to know it feels purely like 3s. It’d be interesting to try out a different game with similar mechanics. Thanks for the link.
The guy in the interview said that if enough people asked for it on Steam they’d likely approach Valve about it. I just heard about this game from that vid and tbh it looks pretty neat. I hope they can get it onto Steam though since I don’t have a 3DS, nor do I really feel like messing around with AppLocale (it never works for me, I dunno why).
Well for a small development team, the $100 required to offer their game into Steam Greenlight services can be somewhat steep. It usually requires a massive community effort to up vote the game on Greenlight so that it can be made available. I’m not sure how much of a scene there is for this game, but it requires quite a lot of votes to get game voted for regular Steam availability.
Just as I thought, they are interested in getting it out on Steam. Get ready for that greenlight people!!!
Also a damn shame that netplay has to be under consideration in this day and age.
It’s under consideration for the 3DS version. I’m sure if there was going to be a PC version they wouldn’t have much issue with online.
It’s netplay for a handheld. I refuse to play online wirelessly on my console. I can’t imagine how worse it can get for a 3DS. I don’t blame the guy to be awry on that front.
Steam Greenlight service is a mess right now. There’s over 700 games on it already and it’s not easy to find something your looking for. For some dumbass reason Value allows for downvoting on games. It’s better for Xseed to wait for Greenlight to be polished a bit more before putting on there.
Most new community driven services are pretty rough around the edges initially, but hopefully Valve is working hard to clear that up within the next few weeks.
So uh newbie question: I downloaded all the patches, but when I extract them and try to install them do i need to have the actual exe file itself in the game folder? cuz ive been trying to install these stupid patches for a while and I l’ve tried almost everything that was previously suggested.
edit: I just tried that and it worked…I’m the biggest idiot in the world. On a lighter note this game is fun and i’d like to netplay some peeps.
edit 2: jk i can’t get 111231, 120811, 120909, or the ones with the separate installers, to work. I don’t run those in compatibility, right?
ran in compatability 2000, ran in applocale, ran as administrator, set computer to nippon. Yep, can’t patch for 2/06 to 8/11. zzzz. done with this game, guess i’ll wait for the steam release.
With Applocale 111231 works (I use Windows XP). But afterwards 120109 it gives me CRC error about some files. I wonder if I have to set the computer on Japanese region.
