I didn’t get a chance to thoroughly test the magical teleportation space-time continuum bending reset (j.LP off launcher) but I can confirm that it works on Ryu. Timing is weird but it’s not impossible. I think it could definitely be possible against many more characters than just the ones we’ve seen. Will test more when I get home from work today.
st mk > air target combo > st hk.
Try that in the corner works on most of the cast to bait reversals, you have to land the air target combo right at the peak for it to work properly.
Been thinking about subbing Yang and just wanted to ask some general questions.
Is the combo thread still accurate? How accurate is the overview for Yang’s normals/specials now? What exactly makes Yang low-tier with the ae 2012 patch? Is it still possible to win with this character? Do you think Yang will be buffed in the 2013 patch? What makes Yang differ from Yun? What should I focus on if I’m just starting out with Yang?(combos/setups/frame traps, etc)
Most importantly, is he fun to play?(at least relatively to Yun) He seems more fun than Yun because of the tools he has and GJ not meaning much in AE compared to 3S…
hello, i’m collecting kara throw data for all of AE 2012’s characters, i don’t know how much of the information here is outdated, so i wanted to ask: what’s yang’s best kara throw?
all of the data will be compiled into a list including normal throw ranges, added ranges and kara throw ranges.
Sorry if it has already been answered sonewhere, but what are the differences of usage of ultra 1 and 2?
U1 for combo damage, slightly improved AA, invincibility in some situations (blow through stuff on reaction usually.)
U2 for damaging anti-fireball, more conversion options (none of which are that good with the nerfs but whatever), better go to punish in some situations (rare things where Yang is far away but the opponent is massively negative.)
I use ultra 1 in most match-ups since it keeps your opponent from jumping in. It’s also great if your opponent likes to jump back in the corner since they eat 400 damage once they jump. Ultra 2 I only use in a couple of match-ups.

Just to be sure, when the training bot is set on auto-block, only true combo will work? because c.LK, s.LP works, but c.LK leave you +4 on hit and the startup of s.LP is 4.

Start-up 4 means that s.LP starts hitting on the 4th frame, so yes, this combo does work but it’s an unplinkable 1-frame link.
Random note on that - not really sure why, but st.LP will reliably hit on the second active frame against some characters after cr.LK, st.LP. Of course, if Yang is still in range for cst.MK, it’ll hit on the third frame. Cuz fuck Yang or something. Makes some links easier though, and you can squeeze in more jabs than normal by walking forward (watch one of Desk’s combo videos or something to see what it looks like.)
Well cst.MK will work if they’re standing…in the corner…on even less characters. Yeah, not much of an improvement.

I’ve looked in a few threads but I can 't find the information on the different DK whiffs after launcher. Can someone do a man a favour and list them or point me in the right direction. I can find some loose information scatered about but not actual data. Ie which strength, neutral or forward… as far as I can see. Launcher whiff neutral LK DK seems to be one version.

You can whiff any version and still follow up with another launcher if that’s what you’re asking. It’s overall easier in this version to just dash though because of the added recovery to his dive kick in 2012.

And U2 used to have 4 frame startup? DA FUCK? Must have been easy to combo into cannot believe people still did it after launcher.
On hit he’s +9 and on block I think he’s -2. Yeah it was easier to combo into Ultra 2 back then.
